We arrived for lunch and we were the first table, besides a man sitting by himself.
The waitress came out asked us how many and then walked over to a table, tapped on it and slowly walked away. I figured she was telling us to sit there so we did. No words, no smile, no expression.
She brought out the noodles with duck sauce and took our drink orders. The duck sauce tasted like a very sweet Ketchup. The noodles were the kind from a bulk bag sold at markets.
I ordered a hot tea. It was tea, no review needed for that.
I ordered the orange chicken with fried rice and paid the upcharge for the wonton soup.
The soup broth tasted like onion. It wasn't bad, it's just not what I expect from wonton soup. The wontons were extremely delicate which I like, but they were SO delicate that they already were falling apart in the broth. The filling was average.
Now onto the main course... the orange chicken tasted like, again, ketchup. Actually it tasted like ketchup and cloves. I didn't taste anything orange at all. I have to say that it was pretty bad.
The fried rice was average. My husband didn't like his, but I didn't mind it.
In summary, the food was below average and the service was even worse.
We waited over 30 minutes for our sub-mediocre food and our waitress couldn't have walked slower or have been more emotionless if she tried.
I agree with the other reviewer who said they didn't get what all the hype was about. I totally agree. What IS all the...

The food was sooo delicious!
The dining room is very attractive and very clean.
The restroom was spotless. (Very very important, in my book) It's the first thing I check.
Whenever I dine out, the first thing I do is order a beverage, get the menu, and excuse myself to go wash my hands. Unclean restroom... I pay for the drinks that I don't drink, leave a tip, (it's not the server's fault) then leave the restaurant. On the way out I make constructive criticism.
My outlook... A clean restroom... ...a clean kitchen.
I enjoyed everything at chen's.
Oh, one other thing.
They are 'kid friendly'.
It's just too bad the parents across the dining room don't train their children not to scream uncontrollably.
I feel sorry for the parents. (and the...
Read moreI loved it. The place was a sight to see with their cool water bubble walls. You have to see it to understand what I’m talking about. I loved the food so much I finished my ramen noodle soup. I’ve only been to one other place where the ramen was this good and it’s been hard to find another place. EXCEPT NOW. The pork.... PHENOMENAL.. it was like butter. Melted in my mouth. Sooo good. The people working there were so friendly. I think we were all having a good time together. There was a lot of laughter between us all. They were happy to see that I finished my food. It was so good they even convinced to get desert. I ate the whole bomba, I almost didn’t share with my friend. That’s how good it was. Definitely will be...
