I’m never one to give a bad review given the hard work that goes into making patrons happy. I have to be honest here-this place has gone down over the year.
#1- the floor is ALWAYS greasy. This was my first clue as to the cleanliness and shape of this place. I’ve been to many many places and never deal with this
#2 - they leave the kitchen door open and you can feel how cold it is and how dirty it looks. I feel bad for the employees working in this sub par condition
#3 - there is no soap in the men’s room and the toilets were dirty.
#4 - good luck getting consistent service. The server was never to be found after we ordered. We were thirsty and could not get 2nd rounds of drinks for the remainder of the meal. My wife’s meal came out when we were about to leave signifying that they forgot her meal.
#5 - they forgot my daughters meal so she just shared with us.
#6-portions are much smaller as compared to the likes of arirang and the quality of the food has gone down. The veggies were burnt and the taste of everything was not the way it used to be.
#7 - the last few times we were there, the host did not seat us in the manner he should’ve. He kept skipping us.
#8 - ordering something from a different waitress who totally ignored us.
I can nitpick at other things but I will refrain (other patrons not receiving items they ordered but being charged).
I am not sure what is going on here but I suggest the owners to invest in quality control. It used to be a good place.

Read moreMy husband was in the mood for sushi Friday night so we decided to go to Mahzu of Freehold for dinner. We haven’t been there in a long time. We sat at a table which was so sticky that the menus made that suction sound each time we lifted them. I guess it’s to be expected from the oils they use in the hibachi section. I don’t like sushi so I ordered the filet mignon & shrimp entree from the hibachi section of the menu. The clear miso soup was ok but the salad was just some roughly chopped iceberg lettuce a piece of cucumber & one slice of tomato. The ginger dressing was just a big glob that sat on top of that tomato. Out came the food my husband liked his sushi it did look nice. My entree however was a disappointment. There was a small mound of mushy rice. A small mound of noodles and small chopped up pieces of filet mignon & some shrimp. The entire dish was swimming in some greasy looking brown liquid. Never had that in hibachi before. Filet mignon is always soft like butter not these pieces! Very chewy & I had difficulty eating it. The shrimp was over cooked & very dry. I gave my husband a couple of pieces & he agreed it was very dry. While we waited for our check my stomach started to churn. Needless to say. I didn’t feel well the rest of the evening. The waitress was really nice but I doubt I go back for...
Read moreVery disgusted at my experience with my family yesterday! We’ve been living in freehold for about a year now and have patronized this business about 8 times to count. Yesterday our experience was heartbreaking my children experienced first hand us standing in a line to be sat down for 10 mins and a guy walked in and they served him first assuming we didn’t have reservations. Finally husband shows the reservations and after standing there for 10 mins the woman turned us away because we arrived after our reservation time.(prior to that we always would walk in and be sat down by the other gentleman but he wasn’t there. Next the elderly guy comes over stared at me resumed to greet someone else again before me. I’m not one to deem everyone a colorist but I hate to say my children called it and their assumption seemed right. We weren’t greeted& Everyone that walked in with an opposite skin color were seen faster. Very embarrassing to have experienced this in front of our children. Makes me upset to have spent money here before and treated like a cast away.because we showed up 10 mins later this day. Smh I had to say we were here first, the lady still served the others quicker than us! Sad experience won’t...
