This has been one of my whole families favorite restaurants for 30 years but so many of the things that made this place great have really slipped in the past years and with the OUTRAGEOUS PRICE INCREASE we won’t be going there anymore. Our last few visits we’ve experienced terrible service. Once with our entrees coming before our appetizers or salads. Again the next time we went we received no salads before they brought our entrees and offered to send them in a bag to go and when I instead asked for a few dollars taken off the bill instead as I didn’t have room in my fridge for them, they were rude about it, both the waitress and especially the young man working the cash register. We were also super disappointed that my kid’s favorite appetizer that used to be a huge plate of fresh hand battered onion rings had been replaced by a much smaller serving of frozen breaded onion rings. We also all noticed that the Sicilian Delight we all loved had much smaller portions of veal, lasagna and mostaccioli. The smaller portions were understandable with the increase in food prices so it didn’t bother me and still wanted to go there for my birthday dinner tonight and when our party of 10 was seated and given the new menus we were shocked. Basically the entire menu that had already had its portions lessened was increased in price by 60%-70%. The calamari appetizer we usually get for $9.95 was now $16.95. They had done away with all half orders and increased the price of all of their full order pastas by 60% and then was $8 to add a grilled chicken breast. With that increase, no half orders, no kids menu, we walked out. On my way out I mentioned the crazy price increase and the waitress sharply replied that there hadn’t been an increase in prices for 6 years and walked away and the manager replied that the cost from their suppliers have gone up. Well $5 for a cup of just sauce when every other Italian restaurant in this city and every other is .50 cents to a $1 at most. Shame on you guys,...
Read moreA very nice and cozy restaurant and the food was impeccable. I had a salad with their Italian dressing. It was good but the dressing was a little to tangy for me. I had their Sicilian Fillet for my main dish. It was aamazing. It truly was one of the best fillets l have ever had. It was well seasoned and cooked to a perfect medium rare. The garlic mashed potatoes and spinach were the perfect sides.
Now why only four stars is because of the waitress. I wish I could remember her name. She was an older lady with blonde hair. I over heard saying she has been there for 12 years. She was not working hard at all. When I saw the other waitress working her butt off and making sure everything was going well at that table. She must of been there at least 7 or 8 times. Mine on the other hand came to take my order and bring it out to me and stopped by once just to see how the fillet was. Until the check came. Then it took her 7 to 10 minutes from the time I got my bill to her bringing back my change. Not real friendly either with someone new to the resturant. I am use to having someone strike up a conversation and getting to know a new patron. Which she did not do. That was the big disappointment in rather a very pleasant and enjoyable meal. The restaurant deserves a 5 but had to take it down a notch becausee of the service. She could learn a lot from the other waitress on how well her work ethic it is.
I am usually a high tipper than the average person. If the waitress or waiter is very good at what they do. Then I am as good as giving them anywhere from 30 to 60 percent tip. My bill was $30 and I only have this waitress a $5 tip. Now if I had the other one. It would of at the very least $15 to $18 dollars.
So I am saying. Go here for exceptional food but just be careful of who you get as...
Read moreWe went on a saturday night with no reservations. The hostess said it would be about a 15 minute wait for a table, no big deal. So we waited. While waiting for a table, my date asked if I wanted a drink from the bar area. I said sure, so he went and got himself a beer and me a glass of wine. We sat and drank our drinks while we waited for a table. About 10 minutes later we were seated. After we were seated it took almost 10 minutes for a server to greet us. When she did, she didn't greet us at all, but instead demanded to see our ID's, as we had brought the remains of our drinks with us. We thought a "hello" might be a better greeting. After she took our ID's she came back with them 5 minutes later, dropped them off, and left again. It then took her another 10 minutes for her to come back to take our order. We were both really upset over her actions and felt it had ruined the experience. We found ourselves wanting to leave the establishment (it was our first time there) rather than relax and take our time and enjoy the night. She rarely checked on us throughout our meal, while we watched her cater to the table next to us all night long, smiling and talkative with them when she wouldn't so much as say more than she had to to us. Shrimp was disappointing for the price of the shrimp alfredo, especially for a place that claims to be authentic. We paid our bill as soon as we could and left. Will not be back due to poor service and...
