I went through the drive through on 9/24/23 at approximately 9am. I ordered a small coffee and a bag of medium roast coffee. The total was slightly over $16. I paid with a $10 gift card and the rest in cash. I was not provided a receipt. I went on my way with my delicious cup of coffee.
The next morning, I went to make a pot of coffee and noticed the coffee I was provided with was Decaf. Not a huge deal; my fault for not specifying I wanted caffeinated coffee. However, when I went to open the bag I noticed that IT HAD ALREADY BEEN OPENED! I knew something wasn't right when there were coffee grounds stuck to the inside of the clear tape holding the back closed. Upon opening it further, the adhesive (aka freshness seal) was not intact at all. The bag had been previously opened.
Later that day, my wife took the bag back explaining the situation and was told that since we didn't have a receipt, nothing could be done. I'm disappointed in myself for not double checking my order before leaving, but I'm more disappointed that Starbucks provided me with a previously used bag of decaf coffee. I placed an order on the app the other day and was told my order would take 5-8 minutes, I knew I had a 7 minute drive there from my workplace so I figured that should give them plenty of time especially if there is a line, like there usually is. I got an update stating my order was ready before I had gotten there and told the girl at the window I placed a mobile order. She proceeded to have an attitude stating “It looks like you just placed that order, our app has a new update and it informs you of when it’s ready” I told her the app says it would take 5-8 minutes and I placed the order more than 5 minutes ago and it says its ready on the app. She then told me to pull up to the window and then didn’t say a single word to me at the and slammed the window closed after handing me my drinks. They decide how they want to make drinks on a daily basis instead of following their mandated recipes or simple to follow drink orders. Mind you I go to Starbucks everyday. I know what my drink looks and tastes like. They constantly mess up. And when you go to correct it. They’ll mess it up again. And when I let the manager know I’d rather have a refund than drink whatever it is they decide I’ll have today she looks at me like im trying to scam them. I probably spend more money there than she does so she has no right to snatch drinks and act like paying customers are in the wrong when they are messing up at every step.
