Gave Manny's one more try at their new location on Empire Street. It was surreal to say the least. Walking in, the place looks nice, however it had a musty smell like someone used the bathroom mop in the dining area. We seated ourselves then the waitress walked up and just said "Hello" then we said "Hello, how are you doing?". Then she just stood there and didn't say anything. Not I'm fine, how are you, or what would you like to drink, or anything. She just said hello and stood there. We ordered drinks then she actually said "I'll get your drinks while you all look over THE menu". Yes, she actually acknowledged that we only had one menu to share between the three of us and she had no intention on getting us more menus. Then we wanted to order their 60 cent wing special. She said they are probably out of wings, but she would check. This is at 5pm at the start of dinner time, how could they be out of wings at the beginning of their wing night? We caught her as she was running away and said we want the bone in wings, are you out of those? She said that "they" changed that and bone in wings are no longer on the Sunday night special. We showed her the menu where it clearly says bone in wings are on the Sunday special. And we said we saw it on your Website earlier in the day when we were looking for somewhere to eat dinner. She wouldn't honor the special, so we continued to order two orders of 9 piece bone in wings. Those wings didn't come out for a very long time. When they did, they were luke warm and the buffalo ones were dry inside. We ordered a pizza right before the wings came out. Glad we got extra cheese on it cause it was like normal or less cheese than you get at other pizza places. Very skimpy toppings, like a few sprinkles of sausage and a couple crumbs of mushrooms. This was about the same or a little worse experience than we had at their old location on West Street. We have learned our lesson and will not be going back. Their new location does look very nice inside and out. Don't judge a restaurant by its cover I guess. This is a huge disappointment as there are very few choices for good eating establishments in Freeport and they could be good if they took more pride in their establishment and better trained staff. Our dad kept saying was how nice the steak house was before Manny’s. There was even a girl bringing out pizza boxes for carry outs that was carrying pizza boxes tipped way back and angled so the cheese would run to one side. Very poor training obviously. Never once...
Read moreNever been here before but was excited to try the 6 taco and 2 topping pizza deal last night. Absolutely the nastiest tacos and pizza I've had. Tacos came with shells so stale they are not chewable. The meat was flavorless and poured oil, not grease, just by tilting it back for a bite. Brown lettuce and nasty tomatoes on it too. I've worked restaurants for 20 years and would be mortified to let product like this leave my kitchen. Now onto the pizza. Gooey and flavorless. It is comparable to a wet sheet with some pepperoni on it. Jacks pizza at the grocery store is michelin quality in comparison. Paid $30+tip to take one bit of a taco and once slice of pizza. All the rest went straight to the garbage. Do better Mannys, you're embarrassing even by Freeport standards. 10/10 DO NOT recommend. Update: The last 2 weeks worth of reviews are bogus. Friends sitting around the bar. The food is...
Read more7/2024 update. So the Wings and Tacos are ok. See pic for full price Pizza with 2 toppings, which is missing on parts of it. And see pic for the Cheese Bread, that I think only 1 piece has cheese and the pieces are way over cooked; worse part is that someone took the time to box this up and didn't think this Bread should not leave this kitchen! The Pizza could've used the extra cooking time the Bread got. Very Disappointing when you're looking forward to what's usually a good dinner out!!! So much for the prev reviews. 😒 .....................................
Pizza always has plenty of toppings. Ton of cheese on the garlic cheese bread. Tacos filled with fair amount of beef, not overfilled with lettuce and tomatos. . Mmmmm love the thin crust pizza and the tacos are delicious! Also great on those lazy days to call and have it delivered. The Tues night ayce buffets...
