Our stay last night was both disappointing and happy all in the same visit.
First, the disappointment so you can see how they recovered it. When arriving, it said to sit ourselves, so we did. After 15 minutes of no one coming to the table... I did me and went to the bar and asked for my drinks. While chatting with the bartender, she realized we were sitted at a table nearby. She apologized that they were slammed and sadly short staffed. Which we already figured out because the several waiters were running their buttons off. I have no issues going to the bar to get my drinks to prevent someone's stress. She apologized again, and while chatting with her, our server came up and asked my husband if we needed a drink, and he explained I was at the bar getting them.
After she arrived at our table this time, we did not need to find her another time. Tracy had not allowed either of our drinks to get close to empty and asked us how the food was.
If you have not done the 'boneless' wings (aka: chicken nuggets), the Sweet Fire Chili with ranch will never disappoint you. They are the best and one of the main reasons we stopped in while in the area. Wednesday was Burger Mania, and they have all their burgers for $9.99... which is always a good option.

EDIT: When my family and I ran through Fremont, NE, we stopped at Big Red Sports Bar. My mother has severve food allergies, and cannot eat out anywhere with fish due to cross-contamination. So, she packs her own food. This restaurant refused her a chance to eat anything she brought, claiming it was a health code violation for any outside food to be brought in. After an initial confrontation with the waitress, the waitress came back with a plate and basically shoved it in my mom's face, claiming that she could eat her food off of their plate. This could be unsafe for someone with severe food allergies and when you're four hours from home, the last thing you want to do is head to the ER with anaphylaxis. So, after my mother declined that, the manager came over, and basically kicked my mom out of the restaurant. The staff's arrogant, rude and dismissive treatment of my mother was unacceptable. Since the altercation, we were able to get in touch with Big Red Restaurant headquarters, who assured us that the issue had been handled, and the staff in Fremont will handle any future food allergy issues...
Read moreFood: 4* Positives first! Cheese curd starter was excellent. Great breading and ranch for dipping! Would recommend Philly cheesesteak, it was excellent! Side salad was also delicious. Lettuce was crisp, just note upgrading to a side salad will cost an extra $3. Cheeseburger was delicious! Liked the flavor of the actual burger. Fries were good.
Sunday special advertised is the chicken fried steak meal. The mashed potatoes seem to be instant. Chicken fried steak in our opinion lacked a good breading and flavor. Sadly would not recommend that dish.
Recommend: Cheese curd starter and the Philly Cheesesteak.
Service: 5* Our server Elliot was excellent!! He was attentive and made sure the drinks were filled, offered to refill towards the end of our meal.
Atmosphere: 5* I really liked the amount of tv’s for watching Sunday football during our meal. Definitely a laid back sports bar feel. People were playing keno and they have a few of the video/slot type machines (I didn’t directly check these out). Really liked the overall atmosphere of...
