For those wondering why this Popeyes has such a low score, let me explain, maybe you’re male and didn’t experience what I just went through.
I came this afternoon for the Tuesday special. When I arrived, there was no one at the counter. I was the only customer, and one guy was cleaning his precious table and chair. I even called out for help—he blatantly ignored me. I could see several people in the kitchen, but not a single person bothered to acknowledge me.
Then another customer (a male, looked like an Uber Eats driver) walked in and stood behind me. Suddenly, a woman from the kitchen came out and told us to “wait,” but clearly she wasn’t able to take orders. Finally, a guy in a black uniform—looked like a manager—walked in from outside. He SAW us, then walked straight to the back without a word. After another minute of waiting, the man behind me finally called out “hello.” Only then did Mr. Black Uniform come out—but instead of helping me, he went straight to the guy behind me.
That customer actually asked if I wanted to go first since I was waiting longer, but at that point I was so frustrated I let him go ahead. When it was finally my turn, the order process was fine, but the damage was done.
According to the receipt, the server was “Juan,” but I highly doubt that’s accurate—this was the black uniform guy, clearly Indian, and probably a manager.
This place is awful. So it’s okay to ignore female customers until a man speaks up? Absolutely disgusting. If you can’t train your staff to treat people equally, at least replace them with self-checkout machines. At least a machine won’t...
Read moreOk, yes the chicken is GREAT every single time, but can I say the same about the service? No. The cashier lady is so nice and doing her job perfectly, maybe I can say she is doing her job better than any other worker. The people that are supposed to be putting food into the boxes and calling out the order... ARE TERRIBLE. There was only an Indian guy going as slow as a snail, and a Latina girl just walking around doing nothing! I waited for my order for about 30 mins until I had to step up and tell them what’s taking so long. It turns out that my order wasn’t even ON there! So the guy took my receipt and went off that. I wasn’t the only one waiting either, there were a handful of people that I saw waiting when I was ordering and still haven’t gotten their food! The staff REALLY needs to pull this together and stay on task because I saw the guy make HALF of an order, left it, and then it had to take the customer to step up and made him realize that he didn’t finish the order. When I stepped in the door and ordered, it already looked so packed and the workers were just moving soooo slow. The cashier did tell me that it was going to be an approximate 15 min wait. I don’t blame her because she wasn’t there serving the food and assumed that the chicken was just cooking slow, when in reality it was the damn workers. So dear Popeyes, just get your staff together and I guarantee you would be the best fried chicken chain...
Read moreThe Popeyes at this location is not bad I’ve eaten here a few times. But here’s a question. Why include ‘Louisiana’ in the name of Popeyes chicken though we’re not in Louisiana?🤔Well it’s similar to, ‘Noah’s bagels of New York.’ Really, the bagels here in California, at their best, cannot standup to the bagels in New York. I’m talking’ bout,’ just a simple plain bagel with nothing on it! Absolutely delicious. Likewise, the fried chicken here at it’s best, is thrown away, compared with Popeyes fried chicken in New Orleans Louisiana. I think certain cities, states, countries, Etc., are synonymous for a certain food item too. Case in point, deep dish pizza? Chicago. Sourdough bread? San Francisco. Clam chowder? Maine. Cheesesteak sandwich’s? Philly. You got the picture because you’re intelligent.👍🏾Thus, it’s a play on words why it’s called Popeyes Louisiana kitchen Chicken, and it works! Popeyes on the west coast would not have that appeal had it been called Popeyes California Kitchen Chicken, or any other place. Businesses know the reputation of the fried chicken at Popeyes in New Orleans Louisiana, is legendary. Ask anyone👨🏾🦳👩🏾🦳over 50, or anyone who’s from the Deep South that now lives in ‘The Bay.’ Let them explain it to you. Sorry, sometimes I tend to add more, in my reviews of lately. But people...
