See's Candies — Restaurant in Fremont

1-Star for Service: I wanted to try 1-2 samples before making a purchase, something I’ve done at See’s locations for years. I’ve bought hundreds of boxes for friends and family over time. At this store, however, the staff insisted I finish one sample before being given another. While they clarified this was store policy, it’s inconsistent with my previous experiences where sampling didn’t require finishing each piece. Sampling is about trying the flavor to decide what you want, and I shouldn’t have to eat the entire piece to form an opinion. It felt unnecessarily restrictive, and the staff member was also rude and unhelpful throughout the interaction.

4 Stars for the Assistant Store Manager: The assistant store manager stepped in during the incident and handled things professionally. I’ve interacted with them before and appreciated their service. Their involvement helped improve an otherwise poor experience. Though I had to call them over to help.

5 Stars for Taste, 3 Stars for Sample Variety: The chocolates themselves remain excellent in taste, as they have been over the years. However, the sample variety could be better. Unfortunately, this will be my last time enjoying them after this incident.

While the store manager’s intervention improved this specific experience, the overall treatment left a bad impression. I’ve decided not to return to See’s Candies. There are other great chocolate shops out there with better service, such as Läderach—highly recommend...

This was our first time visiting a See’s Candy store. Had heard this on Warren Buffets interview.

It’s a whole new chocolate buying experience. We were used to getting Ghirardelli etc but this one seems super nice.

We were greeted by the store employees and were very knowledgeable about various types of chocolates. I forgot to notice the salespersons name, he made sure our first visit a pleasant one.

Super hygienic(They make sure to wear gloves every single time ) We got to taste few samples and you can instantly tell the difference between a name brand and Sees Candy

The experience was simply FANTASTIC. WILL VISIT AGAIN.

Bad: Parking was difficult. If you want to come at all, I recommend you come early. There was also a line to enter the store because they only let a certain amount of people in at one time.

Good: I went on Monday and there was a wait to make my own custom box, but the staff remained friendly and helpful. The woman at the chocolate counter took my order quickly and was pleasant throughout. Checkout was quick and the gentleman even bowed to me on my way out. This was my first time coming to a See's Candies and I'm happy to say I wouldn't hesitate to come back...
