Sushi Ken — Restaurant in Fremont

As soon as you walk in, there is no obvious counter, instead a server comes up to you and let's you pick a table. The food was flavorful, but were small portions for the price. Customer service was poor. Food: I ordered the beef teriyaki. When it came, it looked like a lot of food, but as I began to dig in, a lot of the size was from lettuce underneath the beef. The beef also was dry if there was no sauce on it. Service: After being sat down, they gave me ice water, but never asked if I wanted a drink. It took 5 minutes before they came back and asked me what I wanted to eat. I gave them my order, but before I could ask for a drink, they left. They have chopsticks at the table, but no forks, and I tried to get a server's attention but was ignored, and so I just went and grabbed a fork from a clean fork bin next to me. I never had any servers come over to me to ask about my food, or ask if I wanted a refill on water, they just gave me my order and left. They seemed to give special attention to Asian patrons, while neglecting non-Asian patrons. After I finished my food, they gave me my bill, but took their time getting back to me for it. Atmosphere: Cluttered and felt like it was all thrown together at the last minute. It was noisy and difficult to enjoy my meal.

Overall: 2/10. I do not recommend to anyone. One of the worst experiences I have had at any Asian...

As a regular customer at Sushi ken, I am continually impressed by the exceptional quality and service they provide. With each visit, the experience only gets better, thanks in large part to the outstanding sushi and the attentive care of Ken.

In addition to the incredible sushi, Sushi Ken offers a diverse menu of other Japanese dishes. From comforting miso soup to perfectly crispy tempura, each dish is prepared with meticulous care and attention to detail.

As a regular customer, I can confidently say that Sushi Ken is a place where consistency and excellence meet. With each visit, I am reminded of why I keep coming back. The combination of exceptional sushi, attentive service from Ken, and the welcoming atmosphere make for an unforgettable dining experience.

I’ve been to Sushi Ken in Fremont several times now, and every visit has been absolutely fantastic. This place truly never disappoints. The staff—both the servers and the chefs—are always so welcoming and kind, which makes the dining experience feel extra special every time.

One of the first things I love is the free appetizer they serve right away—usually edamame, fries, or sometimes both! It’s such a fun and tasty surprise to start your meal. The sushi itself is delicious and always priced at a great value, which means I usually end up ordering several rolls (no regrets!). The best part? The service is fast—my food always comes out quickly, with hardly any wait time at all.

To top it all off, they bring you a free scoop of ice cream for dessert, which is such a thoughtful and sweet way to end the meal. It’s those little touches that make this spot stand out. The atmosphere is also really nice—spacious, clean, and with plenty of seating. It never feels cramped or rushed. Plus, it’s located in an outdoor shopping center with plenty of parking, which makes it super convenient.
