I've been to this Denny's a few times and I have been disappointed by the customer service every single time. I have never been disappointed by the food though. After you walk in, and walk up to the counter, you are completely ignored for at least five minutes. This has happened at least four times. Even if there are four or five of them just standing their and talking to each other, they will completely ignore you. Then finally they will look at you and ask you what do you want. Do you want take out? And you say "no.. I want to be seated... I want my order taken, and I want to sit down and eat. I want the whole she-bang..." and they act all surprised that you wanted to be treated like a normal customer so they sit you down. They get your drink and take your order and the food comes out, which has always tasted good. But then they never come back. They don't come back to see how you're doing, they don't come back to see if you need anything, they don't come back to see if you need a refill for the drink you finished a half hour ago (just waiting to see how long it would take for them to check on me). So you go hunt down a waitress yourself to ask for more water. Not a problem. So you go to the counter to pay for your food right? They never ignore you during this part, they obviously want to get the money for the order and get paid. So during the transaction, the cashier taking care of me takes my money and enters it into the register, then her phone dings (which is lying out in the open right on top of the counter). She stops what she is doing to look down at her phone and read what it says and to reply. Then she continues with the transaction. I have not even mentioned the dirty restrooms. Not only just dirty, but covered in trash. And not just a few here or there, I have seen mountains of trash lying on the floor, between the stalls, pouring out of the trash can. And no, they're not busy, like I said, they're standing...
Read moreI usually go to this Denny's because it's the most convenient location for my family as it's down the street from my parents' house. I keep giving this location chance after chance after chance, but I think my recent experience has sealed the deal for me. Sometimes the staff is hit or miss. Sometimes the food is hit or miss. It really depends on what time of day you go and how long you're willing to tolerate the wait.
Tonight I had my party of 5 and we were welcomed, seated, given menus, and then ordered drinks. And then we chatted while we waited for our food order to be taken. And then we waited. And we waited. And we waited.
At some point, 30 minutes had passed since we were seated at our table and no server came over to take our order or check on us or reassure us that they'd be with us shortly. Now typically its no big deal, because I know a lot of times they have 1 girl there working by herself. But there was 4 other tables in the whole restaurant and most of them had their food already, including tables that had arrived AFTER we were seated.
We were the biggest table, which meant we would've been the biggest tab with the biggest tip if we're going by traditional standards. But we weren't checked on or even talked to.
We ended up getting up to leave and paid for our drinks but if I'm being honest I felt like even that was too much for the service we received. The biggest table got up to leave and they didn't seem to care at all.
So between the homeless that hang out in front of the doors leading into the restaurant (where we were immediately asked for money upon our exit by the way) and the complete lack of customer service at times, I think I'm done with this location even though its literally a quick 3 minute drive from my parents house. I'm done wasting my time and being made to feel uncomfortable by people soliciting for...
Read moreManager or supervisor was rudely polite! Waitresses were polite and helpful but were sidestepped by supervisor when taking my take out order and told to go elsewhere...he then impatiently rushed through taking the rest of my order and harshly explained that they were short staffed due to employees calling off and made comments about nobody wanting to work and the governor going to pay them anyway. As I waited for my order, he was bringing out "pick up" orders and just irritatingly tossing them onto the counter. He brought out the milkshake from my order almost 10 minutes before the rest of my order, so by the time I got home, I had Strawberry milk instead of a shake, the burger was over cooked, dry and charred (charcoal), the toast was burned, the eggs and hashbrowns were over salted. In all, the only thing good about the $32 meal was the seasoned french fries! Very disappointed!
*Update Well I called the next day and complained to the manager/supervisor and was told that a regional manager or supervisor would be in and would call me later that day to confirm everything but that they would be issuing me a complete refund...I received no call so I waited another day and a half and finally called again...after explaining the issue to the person on the line, I was informed that according to their notes, I'd already been issued a refund and they ubruptly hung up, as I was saying "Thank You". I figured it might take as long as 7-10 days for it to refund back into my account...this was on the 23 or 24 of June and I still have not received a refund and every time I call the restaurant the phone just continues to ring or I get...
