I had the pleasure of eating at Halal Bros tonight. It’s been a minute since I’ve had good Shawarma, and Halal Bros did not disappoint. FOOD I ordered the lamb Shawarma combo, and asked for it extra spicy. Fair warning, if you ask for extra spicy, that’s exactly what you are going to get. The best part is, you can still taste all of the flavors through the heat. The lamb Shawarma sauce was very true to Shawarmas I’ve had in the Middle East. And anyone who complains about the portions is just insane. As you can see in the picture, my Shawarma was loaded with lamb. I also appreciate that the food is Halal. Though I am not Muslim, I am conscious of what I eat, and the treatment of the animals that I eat. I don’t go out of my way to find Halal food, but when it’s available, I jump at the opportunity. PRICE The price point here is absolutely worth mentioning. Everything is under $11, which I appreciate the business trying to cater to the broke college students. ATMOSPHERE The atmosphere in Halal Bros has a very youthful urban vibe to it. The walls are covered in graffiti art, which feature a myriad of characters and themes. I didn’t bother looking at my phone once, while I was eating, because I was too busy enjoying the art. I also had a chance to talk to the artist, who was eating there, Derek “Dee” Magee, about his artistic background and inspiration for creating the mural. OWNERSHIP I had a chance to talk to Tony, one of the owners of Halal Bros. Though this is a fast casual restaurant, he took the time to greet me, and other customers who came in, and took time to explain his inspiration for the food and restaurant. It’s always nice to talk to local restaurant owners and see what their inspiration for the food is. To me, it really adds to the ambience and quality of the food. TL:DR If you want an authentic, delicious, Halal, Mediterranean fusion restaurant with a great youthful vibe, Halal Bros is your place.

We went to check this place out. I'm a huge fan of a place named similar in San Francisco. So I was hoping it was them. It was not, but that's beside the point. Only one worker in there during a fresno state game. It got busy after we ordered. Poor guy, working, I think, tried his best. The only reason he gets 4 stars. I don't understand the fascination with adding fries to gyros. We ordered them plain, and he got all 3 wrong. Added the hottest sauce they have on top. I had to throw half mine away cause I don't like spicy. But..... The meat was fantastic. I got a side order also, and it was nice portions. It was a little different than some traditional I've had but was still good. So overall food would have been good if I could have eaten it all. Parking will be tough sometimes, but I would give them another chance , hopefully, when they got better organized. No pictures of food were a to go order and was a mess when they got home. Wouldn't be fair. I saw what some got in store and looked great.

If you’re looking for delicious vegetarian food with bold Middle Eastern flavors, Halal Bros is the place to go! While they are famous for their halal meats, their vegetarian options are just as amazing. I tried the falafel platter and vegetarian shawarma, and it was absolutely perfect! The falafels were crispy on the outside, soft and flavorful inside, paired with creamy hummus, fluffy rice, fresh pita, and their signature white sauce that tied everything together beautifully. The portion sizes are generous, and every bite is packed with flavor. On top of the great food, the staff is incredibly friendly and welcoming. They go above and beyond to make sure you have a great experience, which makes dining here even better. If you’re vegetarian or just in the mood for a plant-based meal that doesn’t compromise on taste, Halal Bros is a must-visit! Highly recommend!

I recently had the opportunity to dine at a local restaurant, and unfortunately, the experience left much to be desired. The dish I ordered, which included rice and meat, was a letdown from start to finish.

Let's start with the rice. The moment I took a bite, I couldn't help but notice that it tasted stale and old ( why ain’t you using yellow rice) The texture was reminiscent of overcooked instant ramen noodles, and the flavor lacked the freshness one would expect from a well-prepared dish. It was a perplexing and disheartening experience, as the foundation of any good meal is often the quality of the rice, and in this case, it fell short.

Moving on to the meat, my disappointment only deepened. The protein, which should have been a highlight, was either overcooked to the point of dryness or, in some unfortunate cases, downright burnt. The charred taste overshadowed any potential flavors the meat might have had, leaving me with a lingering disappointment.

The overall execution of the dish seemed rushed and lacking the attention to detail that elevates a meal. It's disheartening to see a restaurant neglect such fundamental aspects of cooking, as it ultimately detracts from the dining experience.

In conclusion, my visit to this establishment was marred by the subpar quality of the food. The rice, reminiscent of old and flavorless instant noodles, paired with overcooked and burnt meat, left me longing for a more satisfying culinary experience. I hope the restaurant takes this feedback constructively and works towards improving the quality of their dishes to provide a more enjoyable dining experience for...
