1)The service can be improved. The kiddos and I decided to try this place again. We arrived and was greeted immediately, which was great, however we waited for a good 5 minutes before we were seated. When we were escorted to the table, I realized there was two tables open this whole time. Second point- It wasn't that busy, yet there was no check in from the waitress. One of nephew finished his water and when I look to find the waitress, she was standing with the other waitress chatting. When we finished, we were handed the receipt. I was confused as before we would be given a tray with both receipts and a pen at the table. I wasn't given any instructions, I had to ask another waitress if I had to pay at the front, which she said she would help me. I followed her to the front where she just left and went back to the dining area and I stood there at the front like a dummy until the same waitress that served my table helped us.
I recently dined at Sushi N Pop and had a mixed experience. I opted for the Yakisoba with shrimp, chicken, and beef, which came with an additional charge for all three proteins. The noodles were well-cooked and had a good flavor, but the portion size left me wanting more for the price. While it was a decent dish, I expected a bit more meat considering the extra charge.
Moving on to the sushi rolls, I tried the California roll, the California crunch roll, and the shrimp crunch roll. Unfortunately, I wasn't particularly impressed with their rolls, especially the California crunch roll. I could only manage to finish the two I had ordered.
On the positive side, the staff was friendly, and I received a warm greeting upon arrival. I was promptly seated, and my drink was brought to me. It seemed like they were training new servers, which did lead to a slight delay in getting my order.
One notable aspect was the speed of service; I was in and out of the restaurant in under 45 minutes, which was quite efficient
In terms of pricing, I paid $45 for three rolls and a yakisoba plate. Given my experience with the California rolls, I'm hesitant to spend more on their pricier rolls.
Overall, I would rate Sushi N Pop a solid 3 out of 5. I might be willing to give their other sushi rolls a try in the future, but my impression of their California rolls leaves me a bit uncertain about spending more...
Read moreI had been going to this place at least once a month for almost 2 years. Every other paycheck I get sushi here. I usually order the garlic lovers salmon sashimi, which is normally so delicious that I crave it. I used to also order a roll. I stopped doing the rolls because the last few times I did they were dry and tasted off. But I still would order from here and get the garlic lover’s salmon sashimi. It has pieces of dried garlic and a garlic miso type sauce over it. The recipe changed once before, but it was still good. This time there was no garlic. It was heavily salted (like clumps of salt) with lemon slices on the side. I looked on the menu to see if there was something that was similar, thinking they gave me the wrong dish. There was not. They have either changed the recipe again or they were out of the ingredients and instead of calling to say they didn’t have them, they created this inedible dish that I ended up throwing out. The salmon was also a little off as well. I have seen this place go down hill in the last several months. I assume it is cut backs because of costs, but if you aren’t going to do a dish close to as good as before, just take it off the menu. This was so disappointing. I think I am going to have to look elsewhere for my new monthly...
