Huckleberry's Breakfast & Lunch — Restaurant in Fresno

This place was disappointing in all ways — food, service, atmosphere. Its price point does not match what you get — this is dennys quality at BEST. We ordered the California Benedict and the avocado was hard and the eggs weren’t cooked well. We only received a baby tablespoon of hollandaise on each egg too. Extra star because the kids portions were large. They don’t have ANY alternative milk and I know i sound like a basic California Karen but come on….not even soy?? I’ll take anything but dairy, PLEASE lol. The Cajun Benedict I got came on “sourdough” toast that tasted like soggy wet bread. The service was rude and standoffish. I had to ask 3 times for a booster seat and our server barely made eye contact and really seemed like she didn’t want to be there. I’ve been a server and I know the vibe of a server who expects her tips but doesn’t want to be there and treats everyone like a nuisance. This was her. My friend and I ordered unlimited soup,salad,and garlic bread. While the food was delicious, the soup was only luke-warm. Our server corrected that when I brought it to their attention. After that, the server never came back to see if we wanted more of anything. They forgot to include the dish we ordered for after our meal. We ordered a dish meant for sharing but had to ask for plates, and no spoon was included for the various fruit sauces from the dish. My friend had coffee,and was never offered a refill. Our server was pleasant, but lacking in skills. This was the first time ever I did not leave a gratuity. I am usually a generous tipper when I receive good service. I don't know if this was a lack of training, or just apathy on the server's part. Only having a breakfast and lunch menu was just a little disappointing I was hoping they were open for dinner also like the other one on Bullard and 41 has been I'm not sure if it is during this time now. I had a waffle for breakfast with the huckleberries and I was a little disappointed that my Waffle came warm and the huckleberries were ice cold. I've gone to other places that serve a blueberry topping which is more like a compote and is warm and didn't make my Waffle get cold in a matter of a couple minutes. My husband's breakfast came without the ham and we had to wait for the ham to come out in the meantime his eggs got cold and of course I would sit and wait for him to get the rest of his breakfast before I started again and he was very disappointed in that to have to sit and wait for the ham to come out to our table.
