Sorry for the long story here, I prefer to be overly detailed in case management does read these, that way they can place in any improvements needed into their enterprise
I hadn’t been to this particular me n Ed’s in a long time and unfortunately yesterday I was reminded as to why. The food was great as it always is and the resturaunt was clean, tidy and taken care of, but the service and potentially a lack of communication between employees was an issue.
My order was fairly simple, 1 large Italiano pizza, order of garlic cheese bread, drinks, ranch and an order of cinna treats. We sat down, filled the drinks up and waited for the order, pizza came out with the ranch and the service member stated out cinnatreats were almost out, we kept eating and talking back and forth then it dawned on me that the garlic cheese bread still hadn’t come out yet, I checked the reciept and it was never placed on the order. So granted yes I hadn’t payed for it but I did order it, so I walked over, ordered it and informed that I had ordered it before, no apology or even a sense of urgency, it was the same person that did my initial order. So that was the first annoyance, we go back to the table and eventually the cheese bread does come out. But then the employee takes our number as if everything was already delivered. I give them more time because I do see that they are busy with online/takeout orders. As we are closing out our meal I walk back up to the counter to ask if the cinna treats were coming out soon, he couldn’t find them and it was discovered that he gave it to someone else, so it would be another 20 or so minutes to get them out, so he proactively offered a refund of the items instead.
Now here is the kicker, I said ok to the refund and he posted in his system for the refund, stated it would be back on my card in 1-3 business days, I walked away and realized that I payed with cash, I walked back and asked him about it and he became flustered and finally figured it out, he gave me the cash refund, again no apology, i didn’t expect anything else aside from an apology, I don’t want compensation, I just wanted the food I payed for and to feel like the employees remotely care about the inconvenience caused.
As I head back to the table I hear him yelling back at another employee talking about how mistakes are costing them money, almost sounded like there was a verbal disagreement going on between the employees, I could be wrong but this is what it sounded like to me, my wife and my daughters.
Again, food and atmosphere were great, I never expect anything less from our families favorite pizza spot, but the customer service aspect and the communication between employees leaves a lot to be desired, which honestly used to be one of the best parts of going to a spot like me n Ed’s vs the other pizza. chains.
Maybe the employees aren’t being payed enough to have a smile on their face or there’s a lot of pressure from up the chain of command to upsell or whatever else goes on to make sure revenue is where it needs to be, I’m not sure if there is or isn’t a justifiable reason why these things were happening, but it has made us reconsider sitting down at me n Ed’s or at least this branch for the...
Read moreI placed an order for Hot Hawaiian through DoorDash, but the app did not allow for me to remove the jalapeños. I called the location to request to remove the jalapeños because I have little kids who are very sensitive to spicy flavor. The “manager” was arguing with me, telling me that she cannot remove the jalapeños because it’s the price I pay for ordering through door dash. She added that If I wanted to make changes, I have to call DoorDash. I explained to her that it would be faster if I called them directly so they don’t end up cooking the jalapeños on the pizza. She repeated that she couldn’t make this super simple request for me. Read moreI placed an online order at 12:15 noon for scheduled delivery later that evening (Shaw/Sanora). My pizza was supposed to be delivered at 5:45 pm. About 20 minutes past the delivery time I still had not received it. I called the restaurant, was told it should had been delivered, and was transferred to the manager. The manager said the driver was late due to it raining. It was already 30 minutes late at this point. I asked "geeze, 30 mintes late?" The manager replied "alrighty, bye-bye" then hung up on me. My food arrived 55 minutes late. I was already on hold trying to cancel the order at this point. The driver said all he could do is take it back. I asked if was warm. The driver himself stated "it's not that warm." Horrible service at this location. Why accept online orders for scheduled delivery when staff are unable to prioritize and fullfil them on time?
