A truly disappointing visit. I am a retired airline captain and have travelled the world and know good restaurants and am willing to splurge for unique and well executed culinary skills but charge me $300 for two on something that is neither unique or well executed then I become upset. My experience tonight at Ruth's Chris was utter disappointment. First the only good thing, our server was attentive and friendly. So where to start... I ordered the filet and lobster (upgraded to the 11 oz) and my wife gets the same but shrimp instead of lobster. On the menu it's a combo that includes a salad or soup, entree, one of two sides (creamed spinach or mashed potatoes) and "chef's choice" dessert. I added the tuna tower appetizer. So what did we get? Bread that was soft but mostly flavorless, my tuna tower that was about the size of a hockey puck (no tower in sight) that was a few slivers of onion and cucumber a few bits of tuna (about 1.5 tablespoons worth) a little avocado and a small pile of arugula. What wasn't there, flavor beyond those raw components and an almost an indetectable amount of dressing, all for $20! My wife got the "steak house salad" that was nothing but a pile of dark leafy mixed greens, three cherry tomatoes (she asked for it extra tomatoes) and a full cup of dressing, it was entirely too much dressing. For me I tried the lobster bisque that was about 2/3's of a cup worth with three small pieces of lobster. It was decent but the cream base was overwhelming with other flavors being much too mild. It was mostly tomato flavored cream. Walmarts house lobster bisque is more flavorful. For the entrees our 11oz filets were properly cooked and reasonably tender but it had almost zero seasoning. (People seated next to us couldn't get theirs cooked to the correct temperature but also noticed no seasoning) My wife got three small cocktail shrimp and my lobster was no more than 2-3 oz but the size wasn't the biggest problem, it was cold and 90% raw, so raw I couldn't cut through it with the steak knife because it was pure cold mush. They agreed to replace that one but guess what, the second one was also cold and 80% raw. I gave up on the lobster so they comped my $20 glass of wine instead of deducting it from our bill. Our mashed potato and creamed spinach were edible but about as simple and plain as can be with no signs of culinary expertise. Lastly we got our dessert and mine was the included bread pudding which was about three spoons worth but it was dry and rubbery with almost no sauce, I only ate about half since it's not worth the calories if you don't enjoy it. My wife had the chocolate sin cake and she said it was good but also only about 3-4 forks worth, it was small. $300 (with tip) for something that would have been $80 at Texas Roadhouse except the Roadhouse actually has flavor. To say this was a disappointment is an understatement. Please don't make me pay top dollar for small portions AND uninspired flavorless cuisine. Oh, forgot to mention this was Christmas day and we drove two hours to go there. Update: two days later we went to Black Angus and for half the price we ordered much of the same but I got TWO lobster tails that were properly cooked and our filets were actually seasoned and delicious.

This was a terrible experience from start to finish. Literally did not even feel like we were in a Ruth’s Chris. We called at 8:15 to see if they could squeeze us in because it was a Saturday night and everything else in the area was full. The gentleman who answered the phone said no problem. When can you get here and we told him we are walking in the door in five minutes. When we walked through the door to young ladies greeted us and told us there was no room available. We explained that we had just hung up the phone and someone secured a table. We showed them the conversation on my daughter‘s phone to ensure we called the right number. No big deal we ended up sitting in the lounge. That’s fine, same menu. The three of us sat ourselves at a table. No one brought our menus. There were only two other tables that were occupied in the bar, and the bar was completely empty. After five minutes, my husband got up and went to the bar and retrieve the menus for us. The waitress finally came over and was pleasant and took our order for drinks and appetizer. Here’s where it all go south. The calamari came out, drenched, literally soaked so much in the chili sauce that the breading was falling off. They were kind enough to split the chopped salad that my husband and I ordered, but it was completely soggy like it was made and chopped in the back hours earlier and sat in the vinaigrette. The biggest joke of all was the $15 baked potato. I’ve attached a photo for your viewing pleasure. This was definitely cooked in the morning and left to dry out all day until it became a shriveled unrecognizable spud. The steak as always was an amazing cut of meat. Unfortunately, it was already cooked too well done (we ordered medium plus - there was zero pink) when they brought it out the sizzling hot plate and immediately became overdone within minutes. Completely too tough to eat. My daughter enjoyed the salmon, but we all agreed it was a little too fishy. I know that sounds funny because it is fish, but fresh fish should never have a fishy smell to it that you can smell from across the table. Not salmon. Overall, the service was fine. It was not over the top, but everyone that served us was pleasant and efficient. When they did forget things, they were quick to correct them. But, I have to say, The food was just not even close to anything that is your typical Ruth’s Chris amazingness. Could’ve been an off night, but for a Saturday night you would think everything would be on.

My wife and I both had the fillet mignon. It was excellent. I also had shrimp. They were placed on the top of the steak, maybe under a broiler or something to cook. Really overdone! Chewy and on the dry side. Once again, the steak was amazing! The sides we ordered were a baked potato (no chives), asparagus, and garlic mashed potatoes. Oh, I also had a bowl of lobster bisque. We received brussel sprouts instead of a baked potato. At about $15 dollars for one side, the order should at least be correct, so I inquired. I think I irritated him. The waiter actually said something about how he "guessed he was buying us a side" when he delivered the potato. He said mentioned something about "buying us a side again later during the meal. It kind of made me feel bad about asking to have it fixed. This was my first visit to Ruth's Chris, and honestly, it is quite a treat for my wife and I. Anyway, I digress. The lobster bisque was a first for me. It was full of flavor and had a couple small chunks of lobster. I liked it but it wasn't my favorite. The garlic mashed potatoes were good. Honestly, I think the grilled asparagus I make at home is better than theirs. The baked potato was pretty decent. In writing this, I'm now wondering if we should have inspected the potato first before partaking. I suppose it wouldn't have mattered because it was so dark in the corner I sat in that I truly needed to use the flashlight on my phone to see, but I didn't. I didn't want to disturb the other patrons. My wife was kind enough to help as she had a small amount of light behind her illuminating her menu. The brussel sprouts turned out to be the star of the sides for me. They were sightly caramelized and just yum. I'd definitely have them again. For desert, we had a slice of cheescake with fresh berries. It was very good, and I would order it again also, but I don't think I will be rushing back anytime soon. There are other places that offer a better dining experience, in my opinion.

DONT GO! Food sucked. Place was super dead only a few tables being used. Came four anniversary and they kept interrupting us at the table. And couldn't wait take the tip receipt until we left. Making a worse experience for our night out. Crab cakes with lemon butter-0/5 dry goss and not tastey. The crab was shredded instead of whole pieces like in the photo. Tasted like tuna salad. Lacked flavor, was falling apart before I even ate it. No lemon butter was anywhere on the plate. Steak Petite Filet-0/5 They gave us personal sized Midwestern Fillet instead, which is worse cut and is 2 oz smaller. Didn't give meal included with the smaller steak. But gave the personal cheesesteak claimed it was compliments but was included with the Midwest steak. We order Potatoes Au Gratin family sized as a side and the server gave us a personal size. Came out cold and uncooked, "said he would "reheat it". Tried to act like it was a personal favor when they brought a new one. Kalamari with spicy sauce 2/5 tasted like orange chicken and was over cooked and chewey. The sauce tasted good but it was overly sauced and chewey Potatoes Au Gratin- 0/5 Served us personal size instead of family sized like we ordered and were charged for. First one was cold and cheese was solid on top. Potatoes were hard and tasted like they threw them in the microwave for 15 seconds. The new one tasted like a worse version of the Betty Crocker box. Tasted only Swiss and no 3 cheese sauce. Lobster Mac n Cheese- 2/5 Mac n cheese part was good they charge you like $30 for lobster and barely put any on top or it. Tiny chops of lobster barely covering any of the Mac n cheese. Personal Cheesecake 1/5- pretty much no raspberry sauce. Fruit felt like it was just flopped on top of the plate. Service- Guy said he would discus the menu with us, but never did. Never gave us a desert menu to look at either. Kept interrupting our date. Packed the to go boxes for like 3 minutes instead of letting us enjoy our meal and letting us pack it ourselves. Server interrupted our personal moment towards the end which we were clearly having to come and say, "excuse me" as he picked up the check holder, because he was too impatient to wait until we left. Atmosphere- very nice, but a little too dark. They had a while open room and sat all the tables next to a bunch of guests behind both sides and right next to the kitchen so you can't really even have...
