Riley's Donuts1 — Restaurant in Friendswood

I was visiting my family in Clear Lake from Dallas and had to visit Riley's. I remember my Dad using kolaches/donuts as an incentive for getting us kids out of bed and up extra early for school. I was so excited to snag some ham & cheese kolaches and unfortunately, they were out.

Ok, understandable I guess….even though it was 6am. Anyways, I was bummed and disappointed but it is what it is. However, when I asked the not so personable associate about the consistent lack of ham & cheese kolaches, her response was, “we make like 6 a day, and run out by 6am”. Uhhhhh yah lol that makes sense when you only craft 6 ham & cheese kolaches for the day sis (the math is mathing). The original owners would never….when the shop was 2 doors down, the owner and her husband were so welcoming, genuinely kind, and ALWAYS had ham & cheese kolaches throughout the day! The lack of a customer obsessed environment was prevalent, and I'm 100% you truly do not care.

Long story short, ya gotta do better friends. Being in the service industry, it’s imperative that you are actively listening to your customers, while being proactive with actioning the little things that would’ve made you stand out, separating you from your competitors.

Full transparency, this is the first time I’ve ever left a review & it’s definitely not due my exceptional experience. Wishing you lasting donut success for years to come, and thanks Morning Kolaches for making my day & having Ham & Cheese...

The lady that’s always in the drive thru is very rude . She don’t smile ,don’t greet people, gives you attitudes, charges more than what it is, I gave her the money to pay and she said ok bye in a rude way and I said well I’m waiting on my change she just owed me a few penny’s but I know if I was missing those penny’s they would not let it go. There’s just no good customer service from her there. She charged my daughter more money multiple times when I let go inside on her own before they raised there prices so there was no excuse. Then lady someone else charged her less than the other lady still before they raised prices and Check your milks they have given rotten milk before. Customer service...

Big shout out to Cody!!! ( I do hope I remember his name correctly lol :) ) He was kind, patient and personable. He had a big smile on his face, as did his co-workers as well :). The apple fritter was amazing, the breakfast taco was super yummy! (Although a little on the smaller side) Donut wholes were good, but a bit different than others.
