Like all things “Indian Restaurant DFW”, this one has gone way down south. Surprised they couldn’t get basic things right. Chicken tikka and malai tikka were horribly dry and the biryani too ! Lunch order ruined. Avoid this restaurant.
Update: since you chose to make it personal.
No, my reviews are not negative. My reviews come out only if something is exceptionally wrong or exceptionally great. You clearly didn’t see the positive. Reviews don’t come out for the mundane. All orders from you have been online so I did not comment on service or atmosphere.
You guys were decent in the first few tries. Mostly biryanis and fried chicken which ends up being moist no matter what you do right or wrong. But now things are really bad (stating from the past 2-3 orders- Uber and pickup).
The order referenced here is from yesterday June 19th. The food was terribly salty, over spiced (the wrong spices) and dry. Talking about the tikkas specifically here. Malai tikka was spicier than chicken tikka. Clearly they did not go through the standard two marinades. Source: anyone who’s cooked before.
Clearly your long list of favorable (non Indian) reviews shows the pattern of how you seek positive reviews from folks who don’t fully understand the Indian cuisine, in exchange for free rice or lunch specials ? Come on we all know this.
I highly recommend local restaurants such as silver spoon in allen, swadeshi at frisco, high end such as windmills at the colony, Sanjh in Irving, etc.
It is a known trend in DFW that restaurants that start as good, post then: possibly due to changes in chef, or having rotating chefs during non peak periods (lunch on a weekday)- go down from being decent. It’s a growing conversation amongst “locals / desis” that it’s possible because chefs are not profit sharing partners. In any case, that’s off topic, but a pattern.
Another good example of food gone way south like yours is the new Swadeshi in Prosper, Desi District in Prosper. I don’t think I reviewed them but many promising DFW residents did. So please, work on your food instead of getting personal and borderline nasty responses.
Thank you but I won’t call as I am not looking for a refund or free food, but instead would like that you use this review as constructive feedback to make things better. Look up a few recipes on YouTube, trust me, you can do it. Don’t call for Karen and Jose for 5 star reviews, have your...
Read morePros: +well decorated, 4 booths and 2-4 tables dine-in area, with mild Bollywood music & 2 TVs, mild lighting: you can hear and also talk, see but feel private enough +adequate portion sizes—especially of rice +tasty IF you like spicy food or perfumed rice +one friend enjoyed a boneless goat biryani dish +tasty naan!
Mixed: ~another friend liked his vegetarian dish (maybe Paneer Vegetable Biryani?), but he was surprised to find tofu in it, which he doesn’t like. Again, this maybe a weakness of the menu plus our accent barrier with the waitress Overall, 3 entrees and 3 orders of naan, along with tax and tip cost $80. ~some near confusion between an order for lamb vs goat ~some possible confusion with “spicy” vs “hot”: I initially wanted to order the Guntur Chicken Biryani. The waitress said something about it being spicy—although it didn’t have a chili 🌶️ pepper next to it? I said I didn’t like spicy, so she recommended the Chicken Takka Biryani instead. While it wasn’t “hot, hot” spicy, I was left with such a strong taste in my throat that I could feel & almost taste it for the rest of the afternoon!
Cons: -Also, while there was plenty of rice, there was hardly any chicken in the Chicken Takka Biryani: maybe 2-3 oz total chicken in a very large bowl of perfumed rice for $15 -Clearer menu decryptions—at least accurate (not spicy) vs 🌶️ vs 🌶️🌶️ vs 🌶️🌶️🌶️ icons. Maybe also an alternate optional menu with thorough descriptions for customers unfamiliar with various dish names, picky, or with...
Read moreAbsolutely amazing experience at Bawarchi Indian Cuisine – West Frisco! From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warm smiles and genuine hospitality. The staff, especially a very friendly lady and a kind gentleman, went out of their way to make us feel welcome. Their attentiveness and positive energy truly enhanced the entire dining experience.
Now let’s talk about the food — it was phenomenal! We started with the Vij Boneless Chicken Biryani, and it was easily one of the best biryanis I’ve had. The chicken was tender, the rice was perfectly spiced, and the portion was generous. Every bite was flavorful and satisfying.
Next, we tried the Chilli Chicken, which had the perfect balance of heat, spice, and that signature Indo-Chinese flavor. It was crispy, saucy, and incredibly delicious.
The Butter Chicken Masala was rich, creamy, and absolutely divine. The chicken was cooked perfectly and the gravy was full of depth and authentic flavor.
To go with the curries, we ordered both Butter Naan and Garlic Naan, and they were soft, fresh, and just the right texture — ideal for soaking up the curry sauces.
Overall, the food quality, portion size, and customer service were all top-notch. Bawarchi West Frisco has easily become one of my favorite spots for Indian cuisine. Whether you’re a longtime fan of Indian food or trying it for the first time, this place is a must-visit. We’ll definitely be...
