My husband and I along with our two kids went here for an early dinner (about 5:00). We had seen so many ads for this restaurant and were so excited to have a Korean restaurant so close to us. When we walked in, there were only two other customers, so I thought we'd have a great experience because they weren't too busy. We ordered two orders of fried dumplings, one order of seafood pancakes, two orders of beef bulgogi, and a baby octopus bibimbop which brought us to a total of $99.00 which seemed a little high for 4 people but we were all really excited. We had water for our drinks. The dumplings came out pretty fast along with the seafood pancakes. The pancakes were delicious and hit my craving but the dumplings were bland and my kids didn't like the consistency of the meat (which was surprising because they usually demolish dumplings) the two orders of bulgogi came out with two bowls of rice along with the bibimbop. My husband and daughter both said that the bulgogi was bland. The bibimbop came out with everything already mixed together and too much gochujang. The rice was way to soggy and there was no way it would caramelize with how much sauce was in it. I mentioned this to the waitress and she said "people usually say they don't want it spicy and then we'll leave off the sauce." I told her that I have never had a bibimbop that was already mixed up and so.....wet. Also how is anyone supposed to know to ask for it not to be drenched in spicy sauce when normally a bibimbop has the gochujang on the side. She simply said that's how they make it there and next time I can ask for it not to be spicy. There will not be a next time for us. $99 and the only thing that was really eaten was the seafood pancakes and some bulgogi. Extremely...
Read moreI was so happy to find this hole in the wall was right behind where I work out almost every day at BFT. They opened about a month ago and in case you want to order ahead of time via GrubHub... Don't because they won't get the order until they open and might not have certain dishes available. Now as a holistic nutritionist, I am always looking for ways to eat out and not let the food I order be detrimental to my health. There were two things I wanted here but they didn't meet my expectations. First, I ordered the bibimbap. I was expecting the dish to separate each food item but they mixed all the veggies, meat, and rice together. (I was trying to avoid eating rice as they are high in carbs). Second, I wanted the beef broth but since it was unavailable I got the bulgogi soup with noodles. Don't get me wrong, it was delicious but I can tell they used a lot of sugar or HIGH FRUCTOSE CORN SYRUP if they really wanted to save money and damage peoples health without knowing it. I keep having to remind myself that most or all Korean restaurants use sugar in most of their dishes (especially the side dishes). It's what keeps you wanting for more. After eating it I felt so bloated and puffy. That's how I knew. Nevertheless, I won't get those two dishes again. I will try something different that does not contain...
Read moreWe went on a Sunday afternoon, around 12pm. It was not very busy, so it was somewhat peaceful as we ate. When we arrived, we ordered at the kiosk and chose our table. The waitress was very sweet and came over to make sure we knew we had ordered extra rice (which we didn't realize, and when we asked to remove one of the extra rice she was very kind and helped us remove it from our order). The food was brought to our table after about 7-10 minutes of waiting, which was relatively quick in our opinion. We ordered the bulgogi, fried dumplings, and spicy beef tofu soup (순두부 찌개). The bulgogi was good and was a generous size, and the soup was really spicy for my husband (who felt it was important to note that as a Korean person, he felt that was the perfect level of spicy flavor), but he felt that the level of spiciness was the only noticeable thing about the soup. The flavor of the soup really didn't stand out from other Korean restaurants in the DFW area. We were not very impressed with the dumplings though, they were only fried on one side and the flavor was a bit dull. Overall though, it was a...
