The hostess at the door and our server Kylie was great. We had to flag her down after waiting for someone to come take our orders and watching others be helped that arrived after us. Kylie was very nice and accommodating. We also witnessed Daniel who we assumed was some type of manager greeting every table except for ours and a few other people who shared our same ethnic background. I didn’t want to suggest or imply that was intentional so I ignored it, since during a previous experience, everyone was so nice including one of the owners Hoyt. The second time was after Kylie came back to explain that the food had been delayed because of a small mistake. The food (crawfish) then took a ridiculous amount of time of which someone got up from my table to go inquire about it, and Daniel who was previously standing there looking intentionally turned around to walk to the back to try to avoid the person. When she did catch up to him he was very curt, dismissive, and rude. I am honestly shocked that in 2025 someone with that temperament and attitude is a representation for such a great brand. I feel very sorry that the staff has to work under that type of leadership, if that’s even what you call that. The food is awesome, the crawfish is fresh and probably the best in the area! If I hadn’t experienced the restaurant BEFORE this visit, I probably wouldn’t have suggested someone who may have a chance of encountering what we did go there. I would say Kylie and the rest of the staff were completely awesome, however if we never deal with Daniel again it wouldn’t be soon enough. Comping food and apologizing AFTER multiple PURPOSEFUL negative encounters is actually an insult. I didn’t come for a discount, I came to pay for what I ordered and at least a decent experience if nothing else. It is definitely a coaching opportunity if he is truly a manager acting in...
Read moreVery busy and crowded because the food is that good. Completely worth it. What a gem. Fresh and hot just like NOLA. I kid you not.
Spicy, but not so much that the flavors are hidden. Fresh caught crawfish. And the shrimp are fried after you order in small batches. Tender and crispy. Not sitting in a bin with a heat lamp. Nooo!!! They were perfect. Red beans and rice just like my favorite dive outside of Shreveport, LA. This is the real deal. Authentic. They already have special King Cakes ready for your Shrove Tues, Mardi Gras, celebration.
Here is the drill, Friday and Saturday nights are crazy busy. Expect a long wait for seating or take out. Go early (4 p.m.) to get the best seat. No reservations! You can call ahead and put your name on the list...you still may have to wait, but less if you call. Our to go order was placed at 8:19 p.m. on a Saturday and the bar tender walked it out to our car at 9:12 p.m. But remember WORTH IT. It is rare in Frisco to get a true slice of LA.
No online or mobile ordering yet. They tell me that will come soon.
I say just go on a weeknight. Not as busy (unless a Saints game is on).
They are located on FM 423 near Stonebrook, north of Chick Fil A in the same building as Sherwin Williams paints. In the spot where Dickey's BBQ used to be.
Parking is not so good. The spots are narrow. And the lot was full at 8 p.m on a Saturday. Park down by the Sherwin Williams and you will be fine. They need a patio! We had to sit in our car to wait on our to go order. But they brought it out to our car. So nice.
They cater. And we will be using them for our next party. Guaranteed! Try the fried pickles and onion rings. Again, worth the wait 100%. This is my new favorite cajun place.
This is a must go! Put it on your...
Read moreOn April 21, 2024, a group of church members and I visited your establishment for lunch. Unfortunately, we experienced a lack of welcoming service and attentiveness from the staff member who attended to us that day. Despite the sole server on duty being unhelpful in providing drinks and condiments, her demeanor was particularly discourteous and dismissive.
It was concerning to observe differential treatment based on race, as she appeared more accommodating towards another couple seated nearby. This behavior suggests potential racial bias which is unacceptable in any professional setting. Numerous complaints about this employee have been raised with you in the past, indicating a pattern of detrimental impact on customer satisfaction and loyalty.
Furthermore, we had informed the server of our intention to return in the evening with guests for crawfish. Regrettably, upon arriving at 6:25 pm after a 45-minute drive, we discovered that the restaurant was closed despite being assured otherwise by the same staff member earlier in the day. This misinformation further compounded our negative experience.
While we appreciate the quality of your crawfish offerings, it is imperative that immediate action be taken to address these service shortcomings and remove individuals who do not uphold inclusive values within Mud Bugs restaurant. We urge you to consider hiring additional supportive staff members who exhibit friendliness and respect towards all patrons regardless of their background. Thank you for your attention to...
