On Sunday May 26th we entered this restaurant location with about nine adults some in our group are prominent and financially strong business owners. We entered and saw two people at the greeter area they made faces at each other looked at their watches shook their head and one reluctantly came to us and said we're going to be closing the kitchen in a few minutes. (5 in our group are Spanish so we understood what you said to each other also) This was at 8:35 pm. Yes the sign says they close at 9:00 p.m. but we were in disbelief at the discouraging and unwelcoming demeanor that we were exposed to. I told the lady that we were going to eat and get out we did not plan on staying for an extended period again with a ugly face she said like I said the kitchen closes in a few minutes.... we were all in disbelief. I asked for a general manager just to see if the tone would change and amazingly the female said she was the manager. I said that's it you're going to let all of this money just walk right out of here and like a robot she said like I said the kitchen closes in a few minutes. It's amazing you have 9:00 p.m. on your door and you turn people away at 8:35. We traveled across the street to Island Wing Company and had an incredible experience and we shared with management and servers about how poorly we were treated at Salsas... they were in shock just as we were. We had dinner drinks and even stuck around for desserts and spent over $600 with a very generous 25% tip to our server. I'm sure losing our business won't matter to salsa but for an owner this should concern you. To anyone reading this in the area be sure to try Island Wings company for an outstanding meal and experience. Say no to Salsas!

This is the new location that recently opened up in Durbin Pavilion. Not a bad place. On this trip, my wife ordered the veggie burrito, she said it was pretty good and the portions were good. The chips that come with the meal were warm, which is always a good thing. They are also really good about bringing you refills on chips. They staff is very friendly. I ordered the chimichanga since I try that at every Mexican restaurant that I visit. I chose shredded chicken for the filling. It was just OK, I'm used to chimichangas having a crisp shell, or at least slightly crisp since they are fried, but this one was basically soggy like a burrito, but likely because it was covered in cheese sauce. It was also pretty small, about the size of 1/2 of a burrito. However, the shredded chicken that was inside of it was pretty good. The interior of this place looks nice, however, it feels very cramped because they tried to fit as many tables, chairs and booths in there as they could. We sat in a booth and it was a really tight squeeze. Overall, I'm sure this place will do well, it's in a good location and people love this type of food. I'll come back for another try, I just won't get the chimichanga next time :)

So I have had the pleasure of eating here twice in the last 60-days and I ordered the same drinks and same menu- here is my take. Avoid Salsas in Bartram Park on the weekends. My first review on salsa’s was on a Thursday- food was hot and tasty- the drinks had alcohol- Unfortunately on the weekends it seems the staff is overwhelmed- the food was cold- the rib eye tacos-tasteless and the drinks WEAK. I will return but during a week day- night and day on all points- from food prep to the drinks- was better on my Thursday visit. The latest thing to hit the table was an order of French Fries- you would think that we be the first plate to hit the table- but it was the last- by the time the fries hit the table - the Luke warm food was literally ice cold- it didn’t help that the AC added to the coldness of all the food on the table- 2 recommendations would be less mint in the Mojitos and avoid the frozen French Fries- Guys- cut some real potatoes and fry those instead of the frozen potatoes

I didnt want to go into detail but have been here 6 times and seems like something. This time I rated we arrived and ordered our food. Sat there for over an hour and no food. Yes we snacked on chips, but didnt want chips for our dinner. The server kept walking by realizing theres no food. Finally after an hour we get one meal. My step daughters food didnt come out until everyone was finished. We had a total of 3 chorizo mexican style tacos, 2 sides of rice. 1 side of beans, and 1 steak chimichanga with rice and beans. She asked how tacos were before the rest of food came out. We said the chorizo tasted spicier then normal, i couldn't eat it. So i had rice and chips for ny dinner. My step daughter just boxed up her food when finally came. The hostesses kept asking if we needed anything because the guy up front told her and she got us refils and and extra napkins, like our server didnt want to stop by because we sat there for so long with no food. Ive served and bartended for a long time. Was hoping a manager would had came by and said something or offered a discount or something. Normally we dont wait that long for food, but having step daughter and our 5 year old we tried to show them patience. This isnt the first time either. I know people have off days and i dont usually complain hence why after 6 visits and 4 of them we have had issues i left the star rating. The place is nice and host staff has always been friendly. Just 4 outta 6 times makes it hard to keep spending money. This time our bill was 48 and some change and still tipped, all so i could have chips and rice. Then step daughter got to try the steak chimichanga...

Upon arriving. At this establishment I waited. For around 5 minutes before anyone greeted me Once I was greeted, it wasn't with a warm invite seemed like waiter was upset was quickly taken to my table someone did show up soon afterwards to take my drink order though once that was taken care of I glazed around to see alitof empty tables and an employee on a laptop at one of the empty tables my drink showed up looked in the cup and it was dirty was easy to see because I ordered a sprite soft drink so I had them bring me another in a to go cup Once I narrowed down to a few different entries. I had quesjim's. It seemed like the waitress was relatively new because she wasn't very knowledgeable on the menu. So after I ordered thete over prived dish wich was $22 thats what I decided on And had a few bites I did not like it. I asked if I could get something else and they take this off my bill. And according to their screwed up company policy, if you order something and they bring it out to the table you're committed. To that item, whether you like it or not, so if you plan ongoing to this restaurant. Be aware that will not. Take the item off of your check if you don't like it. You're stuck with it i was upset with that i paid for something i could not enjoy I would recommend to anyone do not go to this restaurant or or any of their locations. Because what applies at the river city location applies to all of there locations l LA Nopalera is so much better and cheaper better food cheaper prices and I never leave hungry I decided to try something new and it was a disaster but hey it happens LA NOPALERA LA...
