Edited We came back. Again for her birthday. She wanted to try it again. And guess what.... it was 1000 times better this go-round!! I can't say enough good. The food was great, the service was great, and it was peaceful in a good way. The robot works!! I even took some broth home. Like I said below I would have paid more if it had been better. I didn't have to pay moor and it was just so, so good!! The server was great!! He was on top of it all!! And not just my table but all the tables!! I had the pork broth and it highly recommended it. If you like your food seasoned, they even had salt and pepper. And theb sauce bar had all the flavors, which I used. They even have house made soy sauce which was fire!! I'm not deleting the bottom part of my review because I want you to know how far I they have come!! I will be back several times!!
In all honesty, I was excited to come here after letting my boss know how much we love hot pots and that we used to go all the time in Maryland. It came highly recommended to us by someone I trust. I decided to bring my daughter here for her birthday. Because she loves to do hot pot for her birthday every year. And this year, because we are not from here, she would have missed it. However, this place didn't live up to the high expectations we had experienced at other locations. To say we were disappointed was putting it mildly. The location was fine, and our wait was ok because we had waited longer for a better hotpot. Our waitress was great. That's all the good I can say about this place. It was small, the food selection was minimal, and the broths were hot, but weak in flavor. We did BBQ and hotpot and I wish I hadn't. The BBQ from the meat to the grill was awful. The hotpot looked good as I was adding my food to it until she brought me my drink. I didn't realize it at the time, but after drinking some soda, my food tasted like fish. And I didn't put any fish into my hot pot. It was awful. But after a while, the fish flavor went away. But I was no longer feeling the hot pot. I decided to give it another try. But I took a sip of my soda and then a bite of my food. It was still fishy. When I took my drink to go and sipped it in the car, I was mad because the soda was fishy, not my hot pot!! A nasty drink ruined my food!! And since we were there for my daughter's birthday, we wanted to do the birthday robot, but she watched it fail a few times in a row and decided against it. If you read this far, I don't recommend eating here. I'm sorry, but it was a huge letdown. The only good thing was the price. But I would have paid more(have paid more)if it had been a good experience, but it wasn't. And I'm glad...
Read moreOMG I Love Korean Hot Pot and BBQ! YUMMO! Went with a well-versed friend for my first time with Korean HotPot & BBQ experience. I like how the hot pot and grills are all on the same table! you can purchase each one separate or you can do one big combo for $29.99 and got select all the items you want to include. I love how they have the plates under every section, so you don't have to go back and grab a plate for a new area. every section is labeled for Hot Pot or BBQ so there's no question what items are for what. The seafood was delicious and fresh, the vegetables were in wonderful condition and so fresh! I have to say my favorite area was the marinated meat for the BBQ. I got a good selection of garlic shrimp, tried some pork belly, bulgogi beef and all kinds of items to put on the Korean barbecue. now because of these sauces have a little bit of sugar in them, it does crust up on the grill. your server will come over and replace your grill so you don't have to worry about that! I did order a broth that I ended up not enjoying very much, and without an extra charge they switched out my broth for my Hot Pot. I ate really well for a very fair price, I was checked on regularly by the server, the atmosphere was pleasant, it was an easy and enjoyful experience and everything was fresh!
The only suggestions I for this place has to do with the outside area. This location is changed multiple businesses and so the entrance has switched over to the side facing Wells road. maybe put a sign in the parking lot area around the koi pond to go around to that side for the entrance. Also, it's painted a color blue that looks like it needs a few more coats, but it doesn't match the restaurant. seems like it was the previous business's color. I would highly suggest painting this place a navy blue or a slate gray so it has a very contemporary feel to it. I would also tell them to check the tile in areas because it got quite slippery...
Read moreAs a Korean, i can say that this place felt like a really nice K BBQ location in Seoul. The time we came in was closer to 8pm so it wasnt that crowded, unsure what it's like during peak dinner hours.
The seating arrangements along the walls are a bit of a squeeze between two tables, and can be a little uncomfortable.
The food was phenominal. We both got the all you can eat BBQ and started grabbing whatever we could get. The beef cuts are on the higher end such as brisket and really good steaks, both being so tender it practically melts in your mouth. The pork was well marinated and tender. The shrimp was phenominal. Generally speaking, the food cuts coupled with the cleanliness just made everything look appetizing.
There is a sauce bar with lists on how to make specific dipping sauces for your bbq, though i did notice some missing ingredients, i was able to finess my own sauce at the least.
The servers were very kind and courtious with them willingly teaching you how to cook the food at the table in case you weren't sure how. They check on you often for drinks, remove old plates, and replacing the cooktop.
The only complaint i would have is the wierd rule of not being able to share your hotpot or bbq if one person orders one and the other orders the other.
Finally, a very minor complaint: the side dish options are small, being only some pickled radish, pickled chicken feet, and cabbage kimchi. There is no cabbage or any other kimchis to make a Ssam nor any white rice as far as i saw (could be a menu order item)
Overall, this will be my new favorite place...
