I love hibachi food and and have eaten lunch here many times over the years and have usually enjoyed the experience, enough to come back regularly. Today was a different story. The manager was rude, didn't help the ONLY (clearly lost) waiter and we never got several of the things we asked for. We were a party of two being seated at an established table full of other diners, and we ordered from the dinner menu (~$100 for 2 meals, 1 soda and tips). There was only one other table full of guests finishing up and 2 patrons at the bar. The food was fine, if a bit salty. My husband asked the chef several times what had been sprinkled from a shaker on the veg and rice, in addition to salt but never got a straight answer - we were told... Japanese sugar and ketchup - clearly it was neither. Maybe msg, but I still don't know. The waiter was the worst, no customer service skills what so ever and no concern about it. We had to ask multiple times for everything and wound up making several trips to the front and the bar because our waiter disappeared for 15 minutes at a time. We had our soup and salad but no drinks yet. We tried asking all at once for: our water and soda, crunchies for our soup, lemons, chopsticks and napkins. After several reminders and another extended absence my husband ended up going to the front to ask someone to help him (no help from the manager lady). The people beside us ordered a meal for their very well mannered small child (seated beside me). The chef was confirming everyone's orders around the table and somehow it was determined the child's food was to-go and was being prepared in the kitchen. The lady asked for it to be prepared at the table and what was left would go home to the boy's father. The chef said it was being prepared in the kitchen. The customer informed the chef that they were feeding the child at the table and the leftovers would be taken home. The waiter repeated that the food was being prepared in the kitchen said so the lady asked for the manager. The manager was abrupt and rude to this customer and made no effort to be polite when saying their policy is that all to-go food gets cooked in the kitchen. Rather than bringing the food to the chef (who had NOT started cooking) or looking for an appropriate customer centric solution she was just plain rude. I felt bad for the lady being chided by this manager in front of her family and strangers at the table. Ultimately that order was canceled. We made multiple requests for the drink refills every time the waiter reappeared at the table... but he NEVER brought refills or napkins. Sadly the manager did NOTHING to help the waiter who was clearly lost (but walked back and forth alot while talking on the phone). I was disappointed at today's lack of concern by the waiter and general rudeness by the manager. Hopefully someone will make some improvements in what's going on there. Oh and our meal lasted just over an hour and a half, and you know it NEVER takes that long...

We’ve dined at KyoDai Japanese Steakhouse before and had previously disclosed a severe egg allergy with no issue. Our food was prepared safely right on the hibachi grill during that visit. That’s why our most recent experience was so shocking—and frankly, dangerous.
At the start of our meal, we clearly told our server about the egg allergy and that no eggs should be used in the fried rice. We also ordered sushi. When it came out, it was covered in mayonnaise, which of course contains eggs.
We politely asked the waitress to take the sushi back and explained again that it couldn’t be eaten due to the allergy. Rather than correcting the mistake professionally, a manager aggressively approached our table, demanding to know if we had actually informed the waitress about the allergy. We were stunned. Not only had we told her — we were specific about eggs not being allowed in any part of the meal, including the fried rice.
Instead of apologizing, the manager doubled down and told us that our food would now need to be cooked in the back kitchen, not on the hibachi grill. We found this extremely odd, especially since our allergy had been safely accommodated at the grill on previous visits. The manager offered no explanation for the change—just more defensiveness and condescension.
By that point, we felt completely uncomfortable and frankly afraid to let them handle our food, fearing it might be tampered with. We made the decision to leave the restaurant entirely, embarrassed, upset, and deeply disappointed.
This was not just bad service — it was a complete breakdown in food safety protocols, customer care, and basic human decency. The way we were treated for advocating for a life-threatening allergy was beyond unacceptable.
If you or someone in your family has food allergies, I strongly recommend you stay away from this place. Management is untrained, unprofessional, and seemingly indifferent to the very real consequences of cross-contamination. This experience was dangerous, humiliating, and completely avoidable — had we simply been treated with care...
Read moreFirst I am going to start by I have a standard when it comes to hibachi and I am not from Florida. I frequent the same location at home for at least 10 years and let’s say I am stuck in my ways. I know that I am typically disappointed when going to hibachi out of my state. However I attended with another person from the total opposite side of the US who shared the same disappointment as me. Service was good as far as server and chef go. Food was just ok. I am not sure of the ginger and whatever other sauce they provide. Where I come from it is yum yum sauce, this tasted like mayonnaise and ketchup together. Like Big Mac sauce. No thank you. The ginger tastes like it had a strong mix of soy or worcestershire sauce. Again… not good. The only thing put on the rice was salt and pepper, it was kind of bland. I do not think they should say vegetables come with the entree. It comes with mushrooms, onions and zucchini or cucumbers whatever it was. Where I come from it has broccoli, carrots and onions . The filet mignon was decent. Cooked to my liking, it would have been nice to have something to dip it in, but again the dips were not to our liking. My friend had the same feelings as I did and felt her shrimp were severely over cooked. She ordered a signature sangria, when she got it it looked like water with a lemon. She was confused at first to which was her water, the sangria I know is not typically a water or sprite color. Upon taste she felt it in fact tasted like nothing and sent it back. No point in spending $10-$12 on a drink with no taste. Overall we could have passed on this location.

I do want to apologize as we sat after for a while while I at least enjoyed the drink I had to not waste it like I did my meal, I meant to tip cash as it was not the servers fault and time got away from as. When we got up and already got to our location we did realize after we left that we did not leave the cash; I am truly sorry that is not the diner I am.
I am giving a 3 star review, but am honestly in between a 2 and 3. The decent service...
