To preface this, I lived in southwest New Mexico for several years, often visiting some of the most authentic Mexican restaurants out there. That being said, El Burrito Loco was a very pleasant surprise. West Michigan isn't exactly a hub of authentic Mexican cuisine, but I'd heard since moving back from several people to check this place out. I love Mexican culture, art, and spicy food, so of course I gave it a try.

Despite the blizzard outside, we stepped in and everything smelled absolutely wonderful. The decor is certainly beautiful and authentic, as was the very, very extensive menu of most of the typical Mexican options. Free chips and salsa were customary and absolutely delicious. Our food tasted almost as good as our favorite locations in Las Cruces, New Mexico, and there was plenty of yummy food to take home for leftovers.

The wait staff was kind, courteous, and helpful, and knew the menu very well, offering suggestions and explanations for any questions we had. I was warned about the spicy wet burrito, but I didn't listen, and OH MAN was it SPICY!! The pico de gallo, guacamole, salsa, spanish rice, and tortillas were all top notch quality. I was sweating and downing water surrounded by colorful southwestern art; I couldn't help but feel the nostalgia from leaving New Mexico.

All in all this place wasn't completely perfect (there was a crooked picture hanging on the wall, if you're that picky), but it had recently opened and was as amazing as I could ever expect for West Michigan! I would recommend El Burrito...

FALSE ADVERTISING!!!!!! Got my receipt last night for $109 for my family of five. At the bottom it stated Sunday kids under 12 eat free I asked the waiter and he said yes it will come off at the POS when we pay before leaving. The manager didn't remove my daughter's meal who is under 12 for she stated it wasn't a kids meal even though there was no specification that it had to be a kids meal. Tbh I didn't even know kids are free there on Sundays first time going there on a road trip away from home. I asked her to show me in writing where it specifies that it says kids meal only. She told me there is no place and that she cannot and will not discount my 10 year olds meal even though the verbage on their receipt states Sunday kids 12 and under eat free. I did my best to remain calm and point out how unfair and misleading it can be. I asked for even a small amount off of my total bill and she wouldn't even do that. Her waiter and kitchen saved her from a one star. The waiter's service was on point and genuine. His demeanor and opinion about the discrepancy aligned with mine and that it does say kids 12 and under and not kids meals specifically. The food was delicious. I'm only leaving this review in hopes it motivates the management and owners to do the right thing or change/update the verbage on their receipt and or menus to avoid any discrepancies or misunderstandings for anyone else in the future cause I'm sure I'm...

I used to love this place. Since Christmas eve I've ordered here three times all has been a bad experience. February 2 I spent $100 bucks for bad everything. I gave benefit of doubt and gave em three chances. Three strikes, your out... Went out to celebrate buying a new home with dinner and Ritas around 730pm. Took five minutes of standing to get noticed for a seat. Not busy or packed. Hostess slammed menus down, walked off. Took another five for waiter to notice. As we are sitting there another family of five with little ones came in. I couldn't help but see the waiter slam menus down in haste. We had our meal didn't complain went to pay bill. Stood at cash register over five minutes, my man grabbed a lollipop while waiting knowing he'd pay for it when chickeepoo got there. As she was ringing him up she acted like he was stealing a blow pop and barked at him saying, "I know you're gonna pay for that sucker!" With a snotty tone. He was like yeah, how much? Add it to my bill. She rolled her eyes and instructed us on where and how to put fifty cents in a stupid birdhouse for their candy money. That was the last draw. Never again will I be humiliated after I spent good money, she cost everyone a great tip. Heres a tip, go back home. Yall have a...

Food was not prepared fresh. We ordered chimichangas and they came out within 2.5 minutes. Being a deep fried dish it should have taken a bit longer. I enjoy fast service but not at the expense of losing any freshness. The rice was incredibly dry and clearly leftover from who knows when. The waitress spent most of her time on her cell phone or propped against a table biting her nails while she watched tv. Disgusting service, the place was pretty empty yet we felt very rushed and it was early evening. Disgusting ambiance. At first glance it looked ok. I happened to look up though and the lamp above us was caked in a huge layer of dust. I tried my best to capture a pic for reference. I enjoyed other nearby restaurants serving similar dishes yet freshly made far more than here. I do not recommend this place at all. I would give it another shot but with so many restaurants around, there's no need.

Great Fajita! My girls margarita was top-notch ( ask for whip-cream you be glade you did) This place was a great stop the atmosphere is perfect and the decor was alot of Fun. The bar/cantina was a very cool section in back and the Patio/deck was a very cute area ……. Side note: when I go into a restaurant and walk into the bathroom i look around to see if its kept up because if they can keep a bathroom clean then you know the place has standards. It was 8:30pm they close at 10pm and this bathroom looked like they just opened. “You can judge a man by how clean his bathroom is.” This place was Great!!!!
