When we arrived we asked for hibachi for a table of 6 (4 of us were already there and the other 2 were on the way) they told us that we had to wait to be seated until the 2 other people showed up, so we decided to sit at the bar and get some drinks. We waited there for about 20 minutes before anyone wanted to bartend us. The lady that did, didn’t seem happy about it. When we got to the table our waiter brought our drinks to us ONCE and NEVER came whack to refill our drinks. The chef was very confused because there were other people at our table that requested accommodations for their pescatarian diet and he did not do the protocols for that at all, so they were also unhappy. Because of the confusion, it took a lot longer than usual to have the meal cooked. It took about 45 minutes for them to even cook the food, which is NOT normal for them. The food we were served got cold because the chef didn’t properly time it out and the portions were VERY un-proportional and we also had a hard time eating our dinner without drinks. We thought one of our friends wasn’t going to get their meal at all because it took 45 minutes for their chicken friend rice to come out. The chef also skipped out on the Saki, and seemed very unhappy to be cooking. It was also a dinning out for my Dads birthday, which didn’t go as planned because of all this mess. We saw another table happily celebrating their birthday at a different table with a different server and chef and seemed to of had a great time, two totally different outcomes. Not very consistent, and very unprofessional! Sad to say that it was not a good experience especially for paying over $150 for the meal AND they add an 18% onto the bill for having 6 heads or more per table. Not acceptable for the service/experience we had today. Also their paper towel roll was on the floor in the bathroom instead of in their...
Read moreHonestly, I hate leaving a bad review for a restaurant. Often, I'll even give a higher rating than deserved just to be kind and give the benefit of the doubt. In the case of Kazumi, I am forced to be fully transparent in our feedback in effort to save someone from making the same mistake as us by eating here. The General Tso's chicken was not General Tso's Chicken. It was spongy and fatty, covered in a highly syrupy sauce that lacked any flavor other than sugar. The chicken itself was also oddly discolored on the inside, ranging from a pinkish red to a ghoulish grey. The vegetables that came with it were sparse and poorly cooked. The fried rice (which is a $3 up charge) was oily, barely fried rice with what appeared to be black pepper. It was unevenly cooked and fairly unpleasant. The curry entree wasn't much better. Fatty, spongy chicken of highly questionable quality. If someone told us it was fish and not chicken, we may have believed them. Very heavy on the cinnamon/five spice. The side salad was a rip off. It was a half handful of lettuce, a single thin shred of carrot, and a dressing. Didn't even fill half the small container. The miso soup also could have been called miso soup...if miso soup had never been made before and the chef making the first of its kind could take creative license.
In short, food quality was highly disappointing and we won't be eating here again. We hope this place gets better or is replaced by something... anything...better. Godspeed to anyone who...
Read moreNormally, this is our favorite restaurant... like we go once a week. However, over the last few months, the service has gotten worse and worse each time. We order from the hibachi side of the restaurant. We order the same thing each time and most of the chefs recognize us. Most of the time we have fairly good luck there but tonight was awful. Our server brought us our pops and didn't come back until she brought the check. Our chef, which is our least favorite of all of them hurried through our meal rushing everything and leaving out half of the show we have come to expect from this place. He forgot the noodles all together until we asked about it at the end of the meal and then another server tried to make us feel bad and make us feel like it was our fault that we didn't get them. My husband's boneless chicken breast was full of bone pieces. When we brought this to a passing by server (since our was ignoring us) she blew us off and said that chickens have bones. If they have bones, don't label it as boneless chicken. The restaurant was not busy and they appeared to be fully staffed There was no reason for the service to be anything less than great. When you pay $70+ for a meal for 2 with no drinks, you...
