This has been the worst experience I have had in Muskegon. My 15 year old came in asking for a simple manicure and pedicure on her natural nails with plain shellac, as she reacts badly to gel polish. She picked her nail polish from the wall.
The man assigned to her was incredibly rough and dismissive. He cut her fingers in two places bad enough they bled. He then proceeded to cut her nails incredibly short even though she asked for a natural shape on her existing natural nails. When she pointed out that wasn’t what she wanted, he attempted to put acrylic tips on her. She stopped him; at this point, he became agitated. He left, leaving her chosen polish on the counter, and came back with another bottle of a similar color. Next thing she knew, he was putting her hands under the uv light, clearly indicating the use of gel polish. She again called out the gel polish, but he brushed her off.
At this point, the polish job was sloppy, bleeding up over her cuticle and dimpled in a few places.
The management were incredibly argumentative when it came to fixing the issue. I asked them to get the polish off her nails, at which point they acknowledged it was in fact gel polish. At this point, the entire staff were loudly arguing over the situation as the technician who did her nails openly glared and pointed at my 15 year old while loudly arguing about the problem. At this point. They also argued that they would still charge for the gel manicure since he had spent the time doing it.
I truly believe that when he chose to go get the gel polish when he realized he could not pressure her into the acrylic tips in order to charge for a more expensive service. Obviously, I cannot know this. That said, this has been an incredibly frustrating experience.
Due to shady business practices, carelessly executed services, and the impersonal staff, I cannot recommend this business to anyone.
Also of note, this main pedi from hell came out to $77, and she left with half the nail length she entered with and no polish...
Read moreI will NOT be returning. When I arrived, I was asked what services I wanted; I replied Mani, Pedi. I was put in a pedi chair in good time and got a decent pedicure. I wanted regular polish so I waited in the pedi chair for about 20 minutes after they were done to let the paint dry. Then I was put at a drying station, I sat there for another 20 minutes before I was told I was “good to go”. So I reminded them that I wanted a manicure as well. They responded that they didn’t know I wanted a manicure and told me to wait a few minutes. I waited 20 minutes. Meanwhile I watched 4 customers who came in after me get seated at mani stations and were actually done before I was put at a mani station. At this point I had been in the salon for over two hours. Then a technician spent 10 minutes, that’s right, TEN minutes on my manicure. He managed to CHOP my nails so short that he was filing the tips of my fingers and then painted my nails worse than I could do. Then I was sat back at a drying station. I sat at the drying station for 30 minutes. My nail polish was bubbly and still not dry since he had coated the nails so thick. I was so frustrated that I just walked out without caring if I ruined the polish because I could easily redo it, possibly better. What was supposed to be a treat for myself, quickly turned into a waste of...
Read moreUnexperienced nail technicians. The business is not organized at all. Customers (including my-self) will arrive by appointment, however are not seen at their appointment time due to over booking or not booking the customer at all. I noticed this business still uses the old fashion way of booking appointments, pencil and paper. They do not ask for your phone number or your last name. It is frustrating when you book an appointment but when you arrive you are told it will be another hour of waiting. The owner is usually yelling at one of the nail technicians. This is unprofessional. I told the nail technician I did not want lotion this time, she responded, "It's fine just let me do my job!" I am paying for the service, I am the customer. If I do not want lotion then do not put lotion on me. The reason I asked for no lotion is I feel like their lotion is more like water, it doesn't do anything for my skin besides make me feel wet and sticky. The nail technicians desk are extremely small. There is no room for your legs under the table. So if you receive a pedicure then receive a manicure, most likely the pedicure will smug due to the nail technician bumping you. I would not recommend this place for relaxation or to receive...
