I just left left very disappointed and have not been treated do badly in a long time. I just finished working a twelve hour night shift in the Valley, drove to my gym in Arcadia, worked out than drove to Don Carlos who my children recommended. I was exhausted and was hungry both from my twelve hour shift, the gym and the drive so I was not paying attention when they brought me my breakfast. I ordered sausage but received bacon, after eating 1 piece I realized the mistake. I sat there for a minute and got up and approached the counter. I spoke with a short, heavy Hispanic female, who was the one who brought my food to my table. I was in shock when I explained the mistake and her answer was, "you didn't say anything to me" SO I'M LISTENING YO HER EXPLAIN THAT ITS MY FAULT SHE DIDNT CHECK MY ORDER" ? She told an older Hispanic male, who was cooking the food, in Spanish what happened and told him the same thing, "I didn't say anything when she brought me my food" the man than took two sausages, wrapped them and than the girl handed them to me. I explained that I was going to order more food to take and even after the BAD SERVICE they told me to get in line ? After waiting for five minutes while a family was looking at the menu, not ready I explained that I am a Google guide and the SERVICE and TREATMENT of me as a customer is NOT...
Read moreI had high hopes for Don Carlos, given its reputation, but I left incredibly disappointed. From the moment we walked in, the service was slow and unfriendly. We waited for over 20 minutes just to get our drinks, and when the food finally arrived, it was lukewarm at best.
The tacos were bland, with tough meat that seemed like it had been sitting out for hours. The salsa was watery, and the chips were stale. I expected much more flavor and authenticity, but what I got felt like an uninspired attempt at Mexican food.
The atmosphere was equally underwhelming—no warmth or vibrancy like you’d expect from a Mexican restaurant. Instead, it felt cold and lifeless.
Don Carlos is a glaring example of how a great concept can be completely ruined by poor execution. From the moment we walked in, it was clear that the experience would not live up to expectations. The ambiance was uninspired, with fluorescent lights blaring down on tired-looking tables, and a musty smell that lingered throughout the meal.
The service? Atrocious. Our waiter seemed uninterested, barely acknowledging us before plopping down the menu with a lackluster "What do you want?" It took an eternity for our drinks to arrive, and the food came even later, lukewarm at best.
For the price, I expected better quality food and service. I won’t be coming back...
Read moreI FULLY understand Covid-19 is an issue. That does NOT give an excuse on why this place is as bad as it is! First off, EVERY price listed is incorrect. After looking over my receipt, I didn't understand why it was so much. The nice girl explained "Menu prices posted on the board are not correct." WTF??????? I was OVER CHARGED! I ordered the Suicide burrito. NOT WORTH THE $8.00 I was charged (Showed $7.45) Such a small burrito for the price. Taco Bell across the street gets you a better deal!! Also, don't expect to receive any customer service for food delivered to your table. Yes it's a "Fast food" location. When you order food, then they give you a number and place it on your table. When the lady dropped off the food she asked "Anything else I can get you?" I asked for "Salt and Pepper and may I have an extra plate so my kids can share their meal?" After about 7 minutes, I received salt and pepper with no plate. I WILL NOT GO BACK!!! DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY OR TIME!!
Ps Food TASTED alright. 6 out of 10...
