I was racially discriminated against by an employee. I went in to return 4 items. I had the reciept for 1 and the other three all had tags on them but i did not have the reciept for. I purchased 3 or 4 days prior. The manager ( who is very helpful and pleasant) helped me once before with a return with no reciept and she said since it was less than a week she could pull up my transaction and do a reprint. Monies went back to my card. This employee today ( ASSOC. ID 2188061 ) was extremeley rude and said she could not return only store credit. I said fine. The sunglasses I returned broke when I took the tag off. I had the reciept for those and again only purchased a few days ago. She asked me why the tag was off and they looked like that, to which I explained they bent and broke because the tag. She went in to an entire song and guilt dance of why she is not allowed to return sunglasses and she would only make this one time exception. How was it my fault whoever placed the tag did it in such a way when removed it damaged the glasses. She was awful to me and my husband. When it came to the other three items on store credit she 50 questioned me about those as well, held up the line and embarrassed us for a simple transaction that she did not need to make a huge audience considering. My husband and I went back in the store to purchase 2 towels and she turned her head around and watch us walk all the way back in the store like we were criminals. We selected 2 white towels and got back in line to purchase them. When it was our turn she took the towels completely apart and unfolded them and looked at them up and down, front and back as if we were trying to shop lift something in them. Again, I was completely embarrassed. Before she called us up I watched her do a return with no reciept to another like indian descent lady back to her debit card. why did she make an exception with her when moments before she told me no. She was being racist and I am completley offended. I am also writing a formal discrimination complaint to ROSS Corp offices. I refuse for this employee to treat customers this way. She broke Ross code of conduct which is a violation and terms of employment. I will not be visiting this particular Ross in the future and word of mouth to all of my contacts will be suggesting other locations as well. Discrimination is obviously a serious issue and she is a huge part of it. RECOMMENDATION: Do not visit this location. Again employee was a female...
Read moreI recently had a disappointing experience at Ross with a cashier named Liliana. While shopping for a gift, I found a lamp shade that perfectly fit my needs. However, my joy was short-lived due to Liliana's attitude when she noticed the shade didn't have a price tag. I mentioned that similar shades were priced at $5.99, but she responded sarcastically, "I don't think so." When I offered to find another similar shade, she abruptly refused and walked away, leaving me without any single word.
Another cashier apologized for Liliana's behavior and offered assistance. When Liliana returned with the shade, she quoted a price of $12.99, which I questioned due to a slightly bent screw. She responded curtly, "No, I'm giving you a lower price than it's worth, $16.99." I suggested she could have started by acknowledging the discount, which would have improved my experience. Instead, she claimed she had no bags to wrap the shade, which I pointed out was not true, as there were sufficient bags behind her.
As a customer, I don't want to leave a negative review, but I hope this feedback will help Ross improve their customer service training to multiply positive experiences. I suggest retraining Liliana to avoid similar experiences for future customers, because customers are the heart of Ross, and Liliana...
Read moreExtremely disappointed with towel purchase & poor customer services. I recently (Nov.11/2024) purchased towels from the Ross Store located at 26944 FM-1093, Richmond, TX 77406 and was thoroughly disappointed with the quality. After washing them I discovered that they shed excessively causing my dryer machine to get stuck not once, not twice, but three times! To make matters worse, when I attempt to return the towels, the store manager that was today Nov. 14 at 4pm, refused to provide a refund citing that the towels not longer had their tags. (I do not know who, but I do not wash fabric with the tags attached). However, I showed her the receipt and the credit card that I used to pay the towels. Also she explain to me that without the tags they wouldn’t be able to resell the towels, really? . As a customer, I expect a basic level of quality and functionality from products, specially households essentials like towels. The store’s inability to stand behind their products and provide adequate customer service...
