I recently came to the burrito factory and cantina with my friend because she is a Zupp user, and she had a deal for 3 free tacos at this location. She had previously been here (a little over a month ago) and had no issue with the service. However, when she came in today and ordered the tacos, the employee, Sergio, placed cheese all over her tacos without asking her, which he did NOT do the last time she came here. When she received the tacos she didn’t know what to do so she came back to the car and I urged her to go back inside and tell him she was lactose intolerant. However, when she went back to ask Sergio if he could make her new tacos, as she is very lactose intolerant and cannot eat any sort of cheese, he was EXTREMELY rude to her. He told her to just “pick off the cheese from the tacos” EVEN THOUGH the cheese had already melted in to the tacos. When she told him this, he very rudely said “give it to a friend or pay for a new order.” I am so incredibly disappointed in how Sergio and this establishment handled this situation. A food worker is ALWAYS supposed to ask for any allergies before making food. AFTER NOT ASKING, he proceeded to be extremely rude and REFUSED to fix his mistake. I would not suggest coming to this location whatsoever if you have any food restrictions or if you want actual good service. There are much better Mexican restaurants in Gainesville that will actually treat their customers with respect, like La Tienda, Las Carretas, or El Indio.

Pumped up to go here. Lunch on a Saturday at 1230. Most business was next door at Oak. Good lively latin music was playing for sidewalk table seating. Quickly after seating was served chips and salsa. Salsa was good and chips were hot. Had the chicken fajita nachos. Stacks of lettuce and tomatos. Minimal grilled chicken was on it. What you don't see is the guac. The server did not know that the guac was missing. He read the menu as to be reminded. Asked for a side frijoles and ranchero sauce twice. Never came. Not much taste and was mostly bland food. Service started good but trailed off. I kept repeatedly having to ask for a side of lemons, or a refill. Last half of the meal had a different server. Might have had something to do with the delays and break in communication. I'll try a second time but not for a long time.

We usually have Mexican food at another restaurant in Gainesville, but this is closer to our house, and they were open on Memorial day so we gave it a try. I had the California burrito with steak, and my wife had the Chile Verde with pork. The food was excellent. The pork was exceptionally tender and flavorful, and the refried beans were the best I have ever tasted. The Verde sauce was perfect. The steak in my burrito was very tasty, and the Queso on top really added to the presentation and flavor. Ricardo was our server, and our service was exceptional. He checked on us frequently, and was knowledgeable about the food and drinks. This is now our new favorite Mexican Restaurant in Gainesville!

If you're craving authentic Mexican food with bold flavors and generous portions, Burrito Factory & Cantina is the place to go! From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with friendly service and a vibrant atmosphere that made me feel right at home.

I ordered their make your own combo taco and quesadilla, and it was absolutely phenomenal— perfectly seasoned meats, just the right amount of spice, and a LOT of food. The queso was rich and creamy, and the house-made salsa had the perfect kick! Their margaritas? Next level! Refreshing, strong, and bursting with flavor. The house margaritas 2-for-1 deal is way more than one could drink – so be sure to bring company to share with you!

What really sets this place apart is the authenticity and quality of the food. Every bite was delicious, and you can tell the quality of the ingredients they use. Whether you're dining in or grabbing takeout, you won’t be disappointed.

⭐ 5/5 - Highly recommend! Can't wait to come back and try more from...

This Texas boy had to try this new place as soon as I saw it was opened! I thought it was just another burrito place, and boy, was I pleasantly surprised!!!

A very diverse menu with lots of options! The chips and salsa are always a great way to start - GET IN MY BELLY!

March 2025 update:

I've been five times since this post and everything I've sampled has been very delicious, even reminds me of back home in Houston, Texas!!

Keep supporting this great new place!

I had the enchilada trio, shredded chicken topped with queso, green (tomatillo) sauce, and red ranchero sauce along with the usual rice and beans. Very flavorful....and I grew up eating at Taquerias!!!

It's my review that this place is WORTH IT! Prices are great, too, and they'll have MARGARITAS SOON!!!!

GO! Help this downtown restaurant become a...
