My wife and I had the distinct pleasure of staying 2 nights at Depot Village. If I could leave a 5000 star review I would!! We were blown away by the outstanding service we received during our stay, everyone was awesome. By happy coincidence we stayed in the Green Room, we didn't realize it but karma was looking out for us. We had just had an extremely stressful couple of days and decided on the spur of the moment ro book a room for a mini staycation. We didn't really read about the room we had rented since we were exhausted and driving. We walked into the cannabis themed Green Room and being avid medical cannabis users we were in love and felt at home immediately and booked another night ASAP lol. The cannabis bean bag chairs were amazing. The decor is awesome and my hats off to the decorators / workers who put it together ā¤ļø. It was equipped with a stocked kitchenette, fridge, microwave, fresh ground coffee, even filtered water and ice cubes in the fridge. The whole place was soo far beyond what I expected. Matt who works there came and helped us find our room. Our whole time there he consistently checked in with is to see if we needed anything, he rescued me again when i locked us out of our room. He even shared his amazing cooking skills with us (soo good). We had several conversations with all of the staff while there and feel our lives were enriched getting to know all of the amazing people. Our first night was spent socializing and sharing a pizza that Taylor (an awesome young lady who works there) bought when we couldnt figure out how to get the delivery app to behave. She checked with us every time she seen us to see if we needed anything. The owner was very helpful when the online payments failed, was very clear on all the details and everyone went out of their way to make us feel at home. Little did I expect to find such great company and friendship while staying in a place that now feels like a home away from home. I can't imagine staying anywhere else. A special shout out to Matt, Christina and Taylor and all of the rest of the special people at Depot Village (I am sorry I can't remember everyone's name), you have gained a customer for life in my wife and I thank you all soo very much for everything. We can't wait for our next visit, it can't come...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy family and I are waiting for our house to be done and needed temporary place. I am very familiar with the area as Iām a born local but been away for a while. Needless to say itās new hip hidden gem. Itās in a very up and coming area with an array of local shops, outdoor, the trendiest restaurants and just mostly great people who like good things but also know how to have a good time. There is lots of folklore too in the area itās very eclectic and worth your time every time! We stayed in the animal house of The Village which is absolutely adorable and it is very much a little village. Itās a little bit of Gainesville history mixed in with some very modern essentials like a kick axx shower that has a digital thermometer, 12 different headās (literally!) and a seating area in it that is really pretty cobblestone. And a coffee area that is definitely designed for someone who knows a thing or too farther past the average Keurig. And so many flavors of coffee that you would be good for a month. But the housing is the history, itās sits right in the cusp of old Gainesville neighborhoods in and around the college that are so beautiful for me anyway I love old homes. The animal house is a one bedroom apartment but it is an old craftsman with lots of original charm with many of the same paint and characteristics of that time. But there are others, there is a 2 Victorians one that also has a two bedroom ātreehouseā that you can rent. You really got to check the place out and Eliās rates and hospitality cannot be beat. You will not find a better, laid back, clean environment but also knows how to have a good time. Itās dog friendly, hemp friendly and just a bunch of people around that are also very friendly. Itās great for the guys coming in for a game, or a couple coming into town for an art festival, a family coming through for a sports event nearby, or the art buff that will love all the art work almost everywhere including murals on the panels of parts of the village. Give it a shot, you will not be disappointed. Good strong WiFi, great food, local bands and the best trendiest bars within a few feet from your door and there is a room for every taste. Come see...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI am currently a Gainesville local and stayed here 2 separate times; once in June and once in July. Both stays were 4 nights. These stays were while I waited for a new apartment to be finished. And I stayed in the Vintage Room. ||I adore this property. It is affordable, especially for its location. It is walking distance to anything you could want to do in downtown Gainesville. It's close to Depot Park, and that made it perfect to walk my pup. But it's tucked away enough that you don't endure any of the noise from downtown. The staff is incredibly hospitable. Anytime a guest walks by, anyone working around the property will ask how their stay is going or if they need anything. Anytime I requested help or items, I was provided them immediately and with a friendly demeanor. It feels like everyone is very happy to work there and happy to help guests. ||One of my favorite aspects is how safe the property feels. There is privacy fencing that makes it feel tucked away. There are security cameras that make an announcement when anyone walks into their line of sight. And staff are always on site. As a young, solo, female traveler, it helps create peace of mind. ||All of the guests have been friendly as well in the common spaces. The common areas are beautiful and well maintained. I enjoyed sitting outside in the courtyards a lot. It's very peaceful and relaxing. ||I will stay here again and recommend it to my friends and family. Overall, it was comfortable with great professional staff and awesome cold air conditioning in these hot...
