Foxtail Coffee Co. — Restaurant in Gainesville

On a road trip and made a quick stop for some Sunday morning beverages/food. Glad they were open at 7am, as a lot of coffee shops we passed weren’t.

We have no complaints about the drinks/food. The breakfast sandwiches were pretty good. My husband loved his “Flat White”… totally satisfied. 👍🏽

For me: Lemme say that I had been dreaming about a warm matcha latte THE WHOLE TRIP. And this was FINALLY to be the place. I had looked on Foxtail’s ordering app and they gave the option of a HOT “Rose Matcha Latte with Banana Cold Foam”. The app literally says you can order this drink “hot”. It didn’t even occur to me that it said “cold foam.” It was too early in the morning to think that hard. 🤪 Anyhoo, I ordered the drink in the cafe and went to the bathroom as it was being made. I came out to find it finished and it was a COLD drink. I totally assumed they would make it hot and not iced (my teeth don’t like the cold, man)… 🤦🏻‍♀️ So just be aware of that, folks… if you find that the app says it can be ordered HOT maybe they don’t really mean it…? 🤷🏻‍♀️ The chick who took my order did not ask me whether I wanted it hot or cold. The “cold foam” should’ve been the giveaway, I suppose.

The banana foam is YUMMY, by the way. The drink was just a little too sugary for my tastes. So, if you aren’t into the sweetness… maybe just stick with the regular matcha latte.

Also, the sweet young peeps working there didn’t seem like they were fully awake yet. Granted, it was a Sunday morning, at opening time. 🤪 They did smile at us, but the employees just seemed sleepy. I get it. I cannot set people against MY standards of morning peppy-ness. 😏 When I wake up I AM AWAKE.

Overall, it was a lovely place. Clean bathroom. Good service. Fast. Nice, but not-yet-awake...

Coffee at Foxtail was surprisingly delicious, far better than I expected. The quality of the drinks really stood out—smooth, flavorful, and freshly prepared. Service was equally impressive. Even with a line stretching out the door, the staff moved quickly and kept everything organized without sacrificing friendliness.

The space itself is cute and cozy, with décor that feels intentional and perfectly on theme. It’s the kind of place you actually want to sit and enjoy your drink, whether catching up with a friend or working on a laptop. Prices were fair for the quality—good value for what you’re getting.

The only drawback is the limited indoor seating. It can be tough to find a spot if you come during busy hours, though the outdoor seating helps a bit when the weather’s nice. Still, I’d gladly come back again for both the coffee and...

Not sure what the hype is about this spot but I wasn’t impressed and I’ve tried several times. The specialty drinks aren’t updated on the sites and google so I showed up to them offering “no specialty drink” then the cashier looked at me and started acting pushy when I wasn’t sure what I wanted to order (since there wasn’t any specialty drinks) & pretty sure I saw her whisper something to the other coffee maker who laughed so I’m sure she said something about me. The one I tried was gross and the customer service was low quality. I wish I would have asked for a refund for the $7 coffee I bought because now I have to go by Starbucks.
