What a great treat that also offers gluten free options. We stopped in around 4:30 on a Saturday for an early dinner and the parking lot was full. Inside, everything was clean and open with a few 2 and 4 top tables with additional seating outside under a roof with some fans. To the right of the front doors were a few shelves with mystery date books that could be purchased. The team behind the counter was super friendly and helpful, giving us suggestions, explaining the gluten free options and letting us taste test the tea/seasonal lemonade. We ended up getting a Honey Bird, gluten free Good Feather and an order of Birra Egg Rolls with one of each of the drinks. We were also given a big glass bottle of water and a table marker. We grabbed a seat and within 10 minutes, our order was being brought out. The portion sizes were awesome, and I realized I had ordered way too much as just the egg rolls were plenty as an entree. The food quality and taste were top notch. I'm not sure how a chain chicken place can stay in business with restaurants like this in the same town. Only issue we had was the gluten free bun disintegrated halfway through due to the sauces, that's not an issue with the restaurant, these buns are just less structurally sound. For those who want a cleaner experience, as these were saucy sandwiches, you may want to just get it bunless and knife and fork from the get-go. The egg rolls were amazing, soy sauce flavored pulled chicken and vegetables inside a deep-fried crunchy shell. The birra dipping sauce wasn't even needed as they were already jam packed with goodness. While we ate, we saw the staff stay busy, cleaning up dishes and washing tables. As we finished, the team even offered us refills to go. Overall, our meal took around an hour and was great...
Read moreI had tried Germain's food truck a few years ago and sadly got a raw chicken patty. I had already left the premises so I didn't say anything. It was enough to put me off that I never went back. I went through Yelp and Google reviews and was convinced to come back. I came with my bf and we each ordered 2 different chicken sandwiches. I always split food with him so we cut our sandwiches in half and dove in. After it we were hungry but not because of portion but because we had not eaten since 9am and it was already 7pm. So we decided to try a third and split it in half as well.
The sandwiches we chose were The Good feather, Rooster Deluxe & Honey Bird. Each was so delicious. They were curated so beautifully.
The Rooster Deluxe felt a little plain to me. But The Good feather had this Parmesan garlic sauce that was just so decadent and I was dreaming about how that sauce would taste on some wings. Probably the best homemade parm sauce I have had. Very balanced . The toppings offered a great balance to help with the richness of the sauce.
I would say the Good feather and the Honey Bird was my favorite. Honey bird was messy but in a good way. It was sticky and the right amount of spicy for me. It offered a sweet and sour flavor. The fries were ok nothing to brag about I wish they had more flavor. The first batch of fries we had tasted like McDonald's and were soggy but the second batch was crunchy and hot.
Overall the workers were friendly and didn't judge us for our big back activity. Would...
Read moreGermain's Brussel Sprouts are divine, but the chicken sandwiches and fries are average at best. Parking is tricky and sometimes you'll have to walk from the neighboring shopping center if you want to eat at the restaurant and not get towed. I've been to Germain's a few times to try different menu offerings, but now I go strictly for the veggies. Their sandwiches are made with chicken thighs which would normally be great, but something about the way it is prepared leaves the meat a little rubbery on each bite. Combine that with their dense sandwich buns and you'll have a scenario where each bite forces sandwich toppings out of the sandwich. This has made every sandwich I've tried there particularly messy. The parking lot is small for the number of stores in the shopping center and most of it is a construction site, so a nearby parking spot is hard to come by. On more than one occasion I've pulled into the parking lot to snag some sprouts but could not find a spot to park, so I had to go elsewhere. Service is excellent as is the atmosphere indoors. They have is a quaint patio adjacent to a 5 lane road, so outdoor seating has its pros and cons. I'll be back to attempt to order veggies, but won't recommend it to friend looking for a chicken sandwich because of the subpar offerings and...
