This was genuinely SUCH a let down. Everyone had told me Kyuramen was mediocre, however I was excited and wanted to come on opening day and try it for myself regardless.
Opening day was Oct 10th and no where was I able to find the hours of operation. I had been calling each hour from 9:30AM to 4PM to try to ask for when the soft opening begins and got directed to voicemail each time. You would have to be at the front door of the restaurant to know that they officially open at 6PM. For those who went out of their way to drive here to experience the opening, I truly feel for you.
My friend and I were particularly excited to try the ramen, omurice and the tea bar. So imagine our disappointment when we were made aware that not only was the omurice unavailable, so was the majority of the appetizers, no desserts, no combos, and no functional tea bar. I do not understand why you would do an official opening when you are not even able to serve your full menu. If it were only a couple dishes, I'd understand, but to have 3/4 of the menu unavailable is truly inexcusable.
Next was the wait. We waited over FORTY minutes for our ramen. We had placed our order at 6:20pm, and it was after 7pm that we finally got our order. I had thought the broth and noodles would come out steaming hot and rich. LOL no. It was only warm, the noodles were rubbery, there were only 2 pieces of pork, and the broth was so incredibly greasy I felt like I had coated my stomach in lard.
I will say however, the atmosphere is really nice and the wait staff were all so pleasant. The establishment is meant to be a trendy location for photo ops, so I guess go for pretty pictures, but don't expect to leave satiated
In conclusion, really REALLY disappointing. I would truly suggest going to Kinya, where at least you can get...
Read moreSoft Opening Night 10/10/25 - I disagree with the 1 star reviews that were just mad that there was miscommunication about opening times, if you're driving that far, you should have checked first.
The restaurant has a soft opening at 6pm today and the place is very very lovely. The interior is beautiful and the staff was very wonderful. The food was super delicious. We had the squid appetizer that was extremely flavorful and different than most dishes. The ramen bowls were nice, with room for improvement. Broth was amazing, the pork was very delicious and tender. The marinated egg was overcooked but that can be improved on with better timing. The ramen noodles were a bit lackluster, also hoping for additional improvements. The staff was great and very nice, I love the wishing tree and the notes you can add to it. It was a very great experience and it can only get better from here, we're very much looking forward to returning. I can't wait to keep trying more items on the menu, I especially love the jars of hot spices on the tables! Really hoping to be able to have a meal in the honeycomb booths the next...
Read moreI’m really disappointed with Kyuramen. They advertise their ramen broth as being made in-house, but you can clearly taste that it’s not — it’s just a concentrated soup base mixed with water and a hint of Chinese five spice. Definitely not authentic or freshly prepared.
I’ve been eating at Kinya Ramen for a while, and the difference is obvious — Kinya’s broth has real depth and richness, while Kyuramen’s tastes flat and artificial.
The decor and honeycomb-style seating are nice, but the food just doesn’t live up to...
