Tropical Smoothie Cafe — Restaurant in Gainesville

Horrible customer service, this has been my second time coming to this location. The first time I came to this location I had to wait over half an hour for my order to be completed, the boys in the back preparing my food were chit-chatting without a care in the world, instead of completing my order in a reasonable time they kept pausing to talk about a artists and sports, I ordered two Chipotle sandwiches and substituted the grilled chicken with plant protein. Because they were more focus on socializing and not on working they ended up giving me the plan protein but leaving the bacon still on both sandwiches. Today I came in after hitting the gym in hopes of giving them a second chance. The young lady taking my order was nice at first and once I received my order, which was done in a timely manner I then kindly asked if it was possible to get two sides of the chipotle sauce that comes on the sandwiches, apparently the young lady was new and wanted to charge me for the sauce. The number of times that I have ordered a sandwich and asked for a sauce on the side, I have never been charged. When I told her that "they usually don't charge for the sauce on the side", she got all defensive and said that she was "new here and she didn't want to just give me the sauce and lose her job", with complete attitude and sass. I thought this was ridiculous and poor customer service, I've never been charged in any location for a side of sauce. Best believe I won't be returning ever again! Folks who talk about this place smelling or looking unprofessional must have some very stringent and irrational standards... I've come here many a night, tonight included, to perform research online. The place is very clean, does not have any out-of-the-ordinary smells of any sort, and has a great, comfortable, professional decorum overall: from exterior appearance, to inside paint, to radio system piped into the bathrooms, too, and the general cleanliness and furniture/ layout, etc. Beyond the prices being maybe a smidge higher than I would prefer, I find very little to complain about! This is a GREAT afterhours spot to grab a great smoothie, a healthy meal, finish your schoolwork on complimentary wifi and listen to upbeat music while surfing the web. Place always feels safe, and there's a great deal of traffic which attests to TSC's popularity and quality. Reviewers who don't give this place at least a 4 are insane, just saying... TSC, keep up the great work! My only wish is that y'all were...

Very upset after what happened today at the store. I'm a regular customer always make my orders online at this specific location. Today around 8:45pm I arrived to pick up my order and there was a gentleman hanging by the counter (where you are supposed to pick up the orders), being extremely loud laughing and talking to the employees without wearing a mask literally inches away from the smoothies and food waiting to be picked up (they were obviously friends) . After I pointed that to the manager they laughed and been sarcastic asked if I wanted the food again with really bad attitude and still leaving his friend in the same spot without face mask.
