Waffle House — Restaurant in Gainesville

Can’t say anything about the food, but can about the service we didn’t get. My husband and I went there the early morning hours of Jan 2.. We walk in and no eye contact is made instead we hear “ sit anywhere “ so we sit at a table and wait. The cook is busy, the waitress is messing with the coffee maker then proceeds to smack it, then goes and takes to take an order, I think she called it out not sure because she just stood there by now 15 minutes has gone by since we walked in the door. She then walks up and down the counter way and doesn’t even come down to where we were sitting, acts like she forgot something and walks our way only to turn around go back to the coffee maker and acting like she’s annoyed. This is now 30 minutes with nothing , no acknowledgement, nothing. I looked at my husband said let’s go this is ridiculous. So we walked out nothing was said to us. My husband and I brought our toddler and infant to the waffle House in Gainesville, TX. First off they don't have slings to accommodate the car seat and their booths are too tight for the carseat to fit in. Another customer told us we could turn over the booster and use the legs as a rest for the carseat. I was a little nervous but it seemed to work. Our server came out and took out order then my son had a blow out. While I was changing him in the restroom another server came out and saw the carseat and literally started flipping out at my husband making a scene. He kept his calm and told her we didn't know and someone recommended it and changed it but she continued to yell at him in front of all the other servers. I have grown up with this business and it holds great memories of good food and a staff that you always feel welcome by. However we went today for the first time and yes while they were busy I understand being short to a point but MR. E ( I believe is what his badge said) fat shamed me to a coworker because I order a good amount of food while my husband barley ate. (I had been sick for a week and hadn't eaten much) not to mention it's a 40 minute drive.
