Over the weekend we decided to go to Azu for dinner. Upon arriving, the atmosphere was different than what we expected and almost made us leave. Later we were told remodeling is coming soon as well as expansion. Excited to see what that will look like.
The service was great! Andrea, our server, did a wonderful job. To be honest, it was her friendliness, positive energy, and her professionalism that made us stay to eat. She immediately greeted us and made us feel welcomed. She made sure my 9yo son and my Grandma felt comfortable and provided recommendations on what to order. She was veey knowledgeable - about the menu and could easily explain what the ingredients in the plates offered. Before we even asked for anything, she was already offering what she thought we needed. By far the best service we have received compared to any other Peruvian restaurant in MOCO.
The food and drinks were delicious! The presentation of the food was more artistic and unique. However, it didn't sacrifice the authentic peeuvian flavors. Both the artistic flare and taste of Perubian food made each plate we ordered memorable. My ONLY complaint was that my tacu taco lomo saltado was a little salty. Other than that, we loved everything we ordered. Chicha morada Ceviche carretillero Seco a la norteña Tacu tacu con lomo saltado a lo pobre ChocoFlan
Highly recommend to order take out or for delivery until remodeling and e pension takes place given the limited space ans seating. Alternatively, you could call in advance to see if seating...
Read moreFrom the moment we stepped into AZU Peruvian Cuisine , we were enveloped in a warm, inviting atmosphere by Nicole and Andrea. The dimly lit space, adorned with Peruvian art felt both cozy and sophisticated. Our servers Nicole and Andrea, were attentive and friendly, guiding us through the menu with genuine enthusiasm. We started with the chicharrón de pollo and French fries appetizer, frozen lemonade, chicha morada and the hot sauce. For our main course, I opted for this delicious fried fish topped with shrimp, and other seafoods with this amazing sauce and rice. We also got el Lomo Saltado, Jalea de marisco, y anticucho. We finished with alfajores and coffee. The entire experience was a amazing, from the impeccable service to the beautifully prepared dishes. AZU Peruvian Cuisine is a true hidden gem, and I highly recommend it to anyone seeking a memorable dining experience in Maryland. Gracias...
Read moreAs a peruvian, this is by far the best Peruvian restaurant I’ve ever had in the DMV. I had the trio marino and omg it was so good, the leche de tigre tasted so authentic, it felt like I was in Peru. My family loved it too if you’ve been to La limeña or Picca- it’s much better than that and a great price and they don’t even charge for la cancha like other places. The service is also outstanding, our server was very attentive and always in great spirits. The only downside is they’re currently expanding so they do dine-in after 3pm on weekdays due to construction.I cannot recommend this...
