To my astonishment, upon walking into this establishment, my husband remarked to me that we had been to a Yi Fang before. When we were in Melbourne for our honeymoon two years ago, we stumbled upon Yi Fang on a hot day and wanted to cool off with some fruit tea. Ironically, the one in Melbourne that we walked into had also just opened when we visited. And now, we have came across a local Yi Fang that recently opened in the last few months. Talk about serendipity!
Hailing from Taiwan, the birthplace of boba, Yi Fang focuses on fresh, fruit teas. This is something that is unique about Yi Fang versus all the other boba shops in the area. While other boba shops may have 1-3 fruit tea options on their menus, they definitely don't boast the same diverse fruit tea menu that Yi Fang has.
I decided to try the signature Yi Fang Fruit Tea while my husband chose the Winter Melon Lemonade. We both opted for Yi Fang's recommendations in terms of ice and sugar levels (you can make adjustments). I liked that they took the time to make specific recommendations for every drink on their wall menu.
Both our drinks were delicious and incredibly refreshing. Mine was made with Taiwan Songboling mountain tea (one of the most popular teas) and infused with passionfruit, pineapple, and oranges. I love the passionfruit seeds in the drink!
Our experience was so good that we have been thinking about how realistically often we can go to Yi Fang (we live in Northern Virginia, so it isn't just down the street unfortunately). Love their focus on fresh fruit and fruit teas. I highly recommend giving...
Read moreGreat place to come in Rockville for Authentic Boba\Bubble Tea! Highly highly recommend! Maybe like 10,000 times better than Kung Fu Tea. Not to throw shade on Kung Fu, but when compared to Yi Fang? They truly pale in comparison.
I saw people mentioning in other reviews that many people of Asian descent come here and seem to be the primarily clientele which tells you that it’s definitely authentic. If a place has many of the people from the ethnic background of where the food or drink came from, that is definitely a good sign, it means they’re doing a great job, and reminds people of their food from back home.
I also wanted to add, I have been here over 12+ times in the month of December alone. I came today and I was tired getting off work and forgot I can’t drink regular milk. Midway through the kind young lady named Rose making the drinks I remembered I am lactose intolerant and that I could not drink regular milk, and I needed to replace it with oat milk. It was my fault, and I offered to pay for the drink again, in order to get it fixed, however, Rose was so nice and she fixed it again for me for free very nice gesture. She did not have to do that but she did.
To whom it may concern, every time I have come Rose has been so pleasant and always understands my order well and doesn’t make any mistakes on it ever! Not to say everyone else isn’t good, everyone there is very cool, but she especially takes the cake! Thanks Rose and thanks Yi Fang for being here. I’ll be back...
Read moreThis is Aria. SUMIMASEN, SANKOFA, SHOSHENK. I ordered the brown sugar pearl matcha latte, iced, and it tasted very chalky and in particular like something someone would want to smoke. The bottom was warm, and the syrup in the air smelled slightly burnt. Upon tasting the boba, like how Shashank did last month, this month, August 2025, the drink did not mix vigorously. Over by the self order screen, some of the green tea had confetti 🎉 inside of the container 🫙 on the shelf. It is computerized hurling tongue. I told the staff I would be back in about 5 minutes to place the order. Two of the young women behind the counter are daydreaming. 😶🌫️ The computer screen is occupied by fake tea installment in the cupboard. I was not sure if I wanted to try the dairy oatmeal substitute or not. The oatmeal might slightly taste like cow milk. It depends. The ice in the drink is not measured according the palate. I appreciate the effort with the Tea Bubble Boba Shop. Not sure if I am willing to give painted Chai tea another chance at that place. The bubble tea is not as mucinogenic as you would expect. I am not necessarily willing to give this place another chance. It was somewhat polite to give me a water after. The first character of the restaurant has A in it in Chinese. Also one precursor African. The second character is the middle name pronunciation in Italian. The other store is my first name it’s a grocery called Aria something within the vicinity,...
