Mickys Chinese Restaurant — Restaurant in Gaithersburg

We usually eat in at Micky's and it's food is not bad for a quick feed that fills you up and tastes ok...however the fountain drink machine is never cleaned so you can taste the stale/stagnant fridge part in any drinks you get out of it...I guess that's why they have so many drinks fridges.. because any one who regularly goes here is aware of this issue...maybe?.

Tonight though we thought we would try the "home delivery" side of this restaurant and unfortunately our experience with this place went from a very generous 2 stars right down to a 1 and that's only because 0 is not optional. The food came 2 hours late. I called them after 1 hour to ask where the food was or even if they got the order. I would think if they were going to be late it would be just plain good manners to call the customer and let them know. Well it turns out that is just a fantasy, as no such thing happened... and even after I called them they assure me I'm the next delivery in line. Ok.... so why the extra hour on top of the hour we waited already? to top it off the food came stone cold and the delivery driver did not apologize, was very rude when I bought up the fact it is 2 hours late and then demanded that I tip him. He would not accept payment without a tip! I should have sent it back, but my kids and I were already hungry and tonight is a school night. I tipped him a very generous $2

On eating the food, it is so far from what we asked for even if it'd come hot, the meals are wrong. Since it's now late in the night, I guess in that two hours of sitting in their restaurant our Garlic pork and Garlic chicken some how transformed into a weird concoction of sweet and sour soup and vegetables and some other thing. Perhaps dirty water from their sink? .. at least we got the chicken and the pork right? There is no garlic in it to be seen... this food actually just makes me sad for any Chinese person who comes into contact with it.. because this is garbage.

(12-1-23) The General Tso's chicken was good but the egrolls were very dry and almost burnt as if they had been thrown in the deep fryer and "refried" so that they would be hot

(11-16-24) Edit: Everything was nasty and clearly refried and not fresh, the shrimp was hard, the egg rolls were extremely greasy and hard, the fries were hard and the orange chicken is nasty and hard with giant sour orange peels in it. My teeth hurt just chewing this disgusting food, I'm really surprised because I've had good food from here. I haven't ordered from here in a while and I'm clearly not ordering from here for another good while if ever again!! Wow I ordered from Mickys tonight for the first time. I usually order from kennys but the only thing good about kennys sub shop is the food. Their customer service along w the driver is terrible. Anyway the lady that answered the phone was very friendly. Btw I got free egg rolls w the purchase of $12 or more :). The food and portions I have to say we're way better than kennys. They also got to me in less than 30 minutes. Very happy w them will be ordering from the instead of kennys for now on. I didn't even know Mickys exsited until about a month ago when I saw young kids in my neighborhood passing out menus. Great job glad they came around was so glad I won't have to order from kennys anymore!!! Keep up the...
