Gold Room Bar — Restaurant in Galena

My sister and I went to here when other bars were closing and we could not have had a better experience, We grew up in the area but have never spent much time there however, I will be in the future, The woman working (I apologize for not remembering your name; I was with the spirits hard hunny) was AMAZING! I have had many issues over the years with workers in the downtown area but this lovely lady went above and beyond for us, It was late and she had just turned the fryers off when I had asked for chicken strips and fries and she did not hesitate or roll her eyes or act rude in any way. She turned them right back on and threw the food down for us; with a smile. Late saturday nights, especially with a holiday the next day, I can understand if she was annoyed but she showed no signs of it.

The customer service here is phenominal and if you are in town or from here looking for a place with friendly customer service then stop here.

April the bartender is beyond rude. She wouldn't let my service animal in because she didn't have her vest on. So we left. Then when I came in without my dog I asked her what her problem was with the situation and all she did was be buligerant and yell. And she asked to see proof of my dogs certification which is illegal. And when I told her I could sue she told me "GO AHEAD IM THE OWNER" When in fact she is not the owner. Her father is. And he's met my dog several times and never had an issue with her being in there. I've been going to the gold room since I was 20 and I can tell you she is THE WORST bartender I have ever...

What a really nice place. I have visited this bar several time while in Galena for Spaless Weekenders. This year on 3/25 after the Spaless Parade at about 5:30 allot of people poured in from the streets and probably shocked the poor young lady working the bar! However, this young lady never missed a beat, she handled the crowd like BOSS all while working alone! I hope you made allot I tips because you certainly deserved it!
