Massbach Ridge Winery Tasting Room Galena — Restaurant in Galena

Worst experience we've ever had at a winery and we've been to 16 in two years. First time we walked in: the lady said she could only only sell by the glass. So I asked her if she doesn't do tastings? She said not right now and I said okay how about a flight? And I pointed to the several flights sold to other around the room. She said only by the glass after 7. It was 640. When we went to walk out, the group behind us had kids (just like we did) and she kicked them out for being over capacity. Even though we were half way out the door and came with the same number of people. The next day, we thought we'd try again, maybe it's a new server. My friend and I went in yesterday to do some wine tasting. We walked in and did not feel welcomed. We are from Wisconsin and gave her our ids. Our ids were upright instead of horizontal and she claimed that after 90 days of turning 21 we need to pay to have them horizontal. She proceed to lecture us on how our ids were wrong and she couldn’t serve us. We explained that we don’t get new ids until they expire but she kept saying that wasn’t right and she refused to serve us. We even showed other forms of identification with a birth date. This place was the best winery in the area!! I'm sorry that I forgot the name of the staff because they were simply the best hands down and deserve kudos for being able to navigate through this crowded place with only 2 people. They were funny, fast, and very friendly. I enjoyed the wine tasting with my wife and walked out with 3 of the most delicious wines that I have ever tasted with no regrets. If you visit Galena, i recommend no....you must go to Massbach Ridge Winery you will not be...
