Thank God for Denny's. On a recent trip, my son and I were really disappointed with a family campground we checked into with the dog. We ultimately packed up and found a pet friendly Days Inn located in Absecon, NJ. In the evening we went to see Impractical Jokers live in Atlantic City. The show was great btw, should they ever "drive drive drive" into your town! The following morning we were still exhausted from all the packing and unpacking and decided against the hotel breakfast opting to sleep in and barely made an 11AM check out! If you've never been to Absecon or Galloway you're missing absolutely nothing, and there isn't much to eat. Unfortunately, both Denny's near us closed down and of course it was always a late night must. I told my son all about my favorite thing the "moons over my hammy", and of course those infamous slams. Well my son ordered the very berry slam and it looked amazing. A double stack of blueberry pancakes, loaded with a mountain of fresh strawberries and bananas, 2 eggs, your choice of potatoes (he got the shoestring hash browns) bacon or sausage. Not bad and I think it was 12.99 very reasonable prices. I got a value meal for 7.99 2 pancakes a generous portion of fluffy cheesy scrambled eggs 2 bacon 2 sausage although I got all bacon. What a deal for all that food! We ordered online and ate like weirdos in the car. Upon arrival at the store roughly 10 minutes after ordering I was greeted by multiple friendly staff in an extremely busy restaurant. The place was packed. The barrage of online orders and in person customers was dizzying. This place has their stuff together. The packaging was also really smart. The pancakes were nestled in their own little hammock like container within a slightly bigger box below that contained the other items. Honestly I don't know if it was because most times I was at Denny's was 2AM but I don't remember the food being so tasty. They also have a full menu of lunch/dinner items but honestly, what kind of psychopath would order a sale...
Read moreI arrived at Denny's breakfast before and after my Atlantic City trip feeling very hungry and looking like 'The Next Big Thing' version of Brock Lesnar. Ordered Day 1: Philly Cheesesteak Omlette with Homefries, Sourdough Bread Toast (topped with Smuckers Strawberry Jam of course) and Apple Juice. Ordered Day 2: The Grand Slamwich and Homefries with Apple Juice.
Within minutes I was seated and placed orders. The waiter/waitresses were very attentative. To my surprise the food arrived so fast I thought the server had returned food to the incorrect table. The food was served hot. The steak inside the omlette did not have a lot of flavor but it was just right, tender and very well done. The homefries were fresh and not recycled. The apple juice was nice and cold and I highly recommend the sour dough toast with strawberry jam to round out your omlette. I completely eradicated this meal on Day 1.
Day 2 I ordered the Grand Slamwich. This has a mix of meats within an omlette served as a sandwich on toast. This meal seemed heavier and more filling with homefries. I recommend the Philly Cheesesteak omlette over The Grand Slamich.
The rest room at this Denny's Location was also very clean. Will definitely return on my next trip to Atlantic City as a power up before lengthy multi-mile long walks on the boardwalk. Enjoy the pics and more great content on DE Media Drive on YouTube. Subscribe,...
Read moreWe went here late night after taking the bus back from atlantic city. With it being one of the few places in the area, and possibly the only place open for food at 1am, it seemed like many people had the same idea. We were told that it would be a half hour wait- we were able to sit at a table and were served drinks during this time so it was ok. It ended up taking over an hour to get food. Some of it was good, however one of our part's eggs were cold, and the potatoes of 2 people were undercooked. After waiting that long they didnt say anything, but would have rather waited another 5 minutes to have fresh and cooked food. When the bill came, the charges did not add up based on what u ordered- was recommended to switch from a slugger to a slam to pay less, however paid way more. Too tired to care, at this point we were leaving around 4 am. The server was nice, however we kept hearing the manager barking orders, repeatedly saying that they shouldn't help others just get the food from the kitchen out. Also that when people complained over how long their food was taking, she commented on how she got rid of them. Overall it was just an okay experience. If I were to possibly visit this area again, I would probably eat in the boardwalk area...
