Was on the patio Friday July 11th 2025 around 6pm. I spent over $125 for just my wife and I. Our service was adequate, the gentleman did a good job. And the establishment did allow us on the patio with our service/companion dogs (Boston Terrier and Yorkie). The views from the patio are really commercial worthy as you are directly across from the Gulf. The breeze was pleasant. The appetizer of fried deviled eggs were by far the best food item of the night. But that is about ALL of good things from this unfortunate adventure.

The unfortunate events that we experienced were that our signature cocktsil drinks were delivered very watered downed and in pint beer glasses, which made them appear to taste as if they were prepared with little or no alcohol. The entrée order was delivered incorrectly. I specifically requested no sauce on their special Chicken Cordon Bleu sandwich. I did request a replacement sauce. However, the sandwich was still delivered incorrectly and with stone cold shoestring fries and the sauce that I asked to be removed was throughout the sandwich. When I asked my waiter (I'm sorry I forgot his name but he is a very friendly, tall redheaded fellow) he said "the chef said he couldn't prepare the sandwich as requested." So I didn't get my requested substitute sauce and had a sandwich covered in an unwanted sauce. My wife mentioned her wings were luke warm and not very appetizing. I tend to agree as my unappealing and unappetizing sandwich became a melded conglomeration of toasted thick chewy bread and over breaded Junior High chicken patties. Nothing appeared to be made in house it all appeared to be heat and eat. After we remove the breading from the chicken patty it was pathetic chewy and even the dogs wouldn't eat it.

Once we requested the check, we were asked to fill out a Google review and show it to them for an instant coupon. It's sad to know the Landry Corporation has stooped to such levels to alter factual and realistic reviews.

My wife and I neglected to immediately partake in their contrived review system. However, after the fact I wanted to provide an honest and thorough review of our visit. Which I think you will see is not intended to boost their already garnered and extreamly factual low ratings.

I suppose this place is perfect if you want to watch TV and drink beer or maybe you want to continue the party after hours close to the beach.

But for a couple that just wants a nice meal I'd strongly suggest somewhere else. I seriously wish our visit would have been better. However it ended up being the most negative experience of our time on the island.

THAT CONCLUDES MY HONEST AND...

Food was great! Server was horrible.

We went in for dinner on a super slow Sunday night. There were maybe 7 other active tables in the restaurant.

Our server DJ was very incapable of his job as a serving staff. He was a lovely and friendly enough guy, just not a competent server. For starters he had zero knowledge on The beers on tap. (His answer to this was “I don’t drink, so I don’t know). You don’t need to drink to know what the bar offers. When he did bring us our drinks he carried two over to our table, and then went back to carry over two more. (Instead of using the trays provided to deliver everyone their drink at the same time, when the bar sold them).

We ordered the knockout shrimp to start, which we were very excited to try, but unfortunately it never came. He delivered our mains and we asked about the shrimp he didn't even seem to care he had forgot to put them through.

For the mains our table had the shrimp Mac and cheese, Philly cheesesteak sandwich, the fish and chips, and a grilled cheese brisket sandwich. Everyone agreed the food was delicious! The portions were nice and big, not too greasy, and came out to the table at a good pace. DJ wouldn’t have known this because he didn’t come to quality check our food until we were done eating. In fact he was hanging out in the back pretty well the whole time, as we seemed to be his only table. When he finally did come to quality check, he walked over to our table with a mouth full of food, and just gave us two thumbs up. He walked away without clearing any of the finished plates.

As we sat there finishing our drinks, staring at the dirty plates for the next 10 minutes, DJ sat at the table across from us on his phone. We never got offered another round of drinks or desserts. We ended up paying, sitting for another 15 minutes and leaving the establishment all while having dirty plates all sat in front of us and not visual from DJ again.

At no point did it seem like DJ was busy, or occupied with anything else work related. It was unfortunately some of the worst service I’ve ever had. I would go back to eat the food, as long as DJ gets more...

I don't usually associate a tavern and tap with finer dining worthy food. I expected the usual menu you find in most taverns, burgers, greasy old fry's frozen pizza etc. But Let it be known I was impressed the moment we walked in the doors. We were immediately greeted by a young lady with a smile and personality. As a matter of fact every member of the staff I encountered were happy enthusiastic and just friendly as one can be. The ambiance was perfect for a fun and yet intimate setting for a first date or anniversary. Thedecor was well designed and the restaurant is spotless. They have a huge fire place that just sets the mood especially if you are out with your special someone. All around WELL DONE! Now let's talk about the menu. The menu is worthy of being in the category of elevated dinning. Amazing variety, well portioned and presentation on point. Worth of consideration for a James beard award if you ask me! Let's not forget the drinks. Their specialty cocktails you've got to watch out for they are tasty! They have great interpretations on classic cocktails that will make you want another before you can finish the first one. They also have their own craft cocktails that should put their mixologist in one of the best in the country I strongly believe that. And trust me I've been to plenty of restaurants and bars to know when their is a very talented mixologist that came up with their program. The truly have something special going on. I will be back as often as my husband will let me. All around two thumbs up! Kudos to the owners and...

Pros: Comfortable place. Dog-friendly (outside patio). Large propane fire in back. Friendly wait staff. Our server was very attentive to our dog and brought out water unasked and when she brought out the plain patty we ordered for our dog, she was very sweet with our dog as was happy he was getting a treat! This made us happy! Cons: I ordered the Philly Cheese with tots and added cheese, grilled jalapeño, and grilled onions to the tots. What I got was 1) a light, but okay grilled split bun stuffed with a chopped up hamburger patty (see pics) and not "Ribeye" as the menu says, onions and jalapeño that were technically grilled, but were still basically raw, and an order of tots smothered in semi-melted cheese, raw jalapeño, and raw, chopped, white onion (not grilled as I had asked). The Voodoo Ranger IPA smelled funky and tasted funky. I let our server know. She said that she would tell the manager. The overall flavor was okay, but definitely not what we ordered. If your menu advertises ribeye as the meat for the sandwich, then I expect shaved ribeye, not a freakin' chopped hamburger! Also, please grill your veggies for longer. The beer taps need to be cleaned, here. Final note. We waited 40 minutes before our food came out. There was not enough people in the place to legitimize that long of a wait. It took us about 15 min to get our drinks once ordered. We left a nice tip for our server. I hope she got it! I won't be back.

We came to eat here on our first night of Galveston vacation after looking for "burgers near me". The menu boasted fried deviled eggs and a colossal burger, fish and chips, and mozerella sticks. It looked like all the crowd pleasers and bonus, they were opened until 10pm. After a 6/7 hour drive from the Dallas area, no one wanted to cook. We were seated right away and the atmosphere was cozy. The service was a bit slow and our server made several mistakes. First, he brought me a wine glass that was clearly chipped on the rim. Second, much to the horror of a 12 year old who thought he was eating chicken wings, he brought duck wings instead of the chicken wings and we only figured it out when he brought a second round of Duck wings instead of the deviled eggs appetizer we ordered. At the end of the night, he brought our bill with both duck wings on it which we never ordered. My kids said the mozerella sticks "passed the cheese pull" test. My husband ordered the colossal burger and it was a joke. Don't waste the $24 for it. Get the Brick house classic or south paw burger instead. The Fish and Chips were mostly batter but crispy. The pretzel appetizer was as big as my kids head and was plenty for 7 people. The deviled eggs were good when we finally received them. The food was a bit disappointing and I probably wouldn't come here again.

After conquering a 10,000-step walk along the Galveston Seawall bathed in perfect weather, our feet craved a rest and our taste buds, a treat. Brick House Tavern + Tap on Seawall Blvd beckoned, promising happy hour libations and delicious bites. We weren't disappointed! Settling into comfy chairs, we indulged in their humongous pretzel, the warm dough a perfect canvas for their flavorful sauces. Each bite was a symphony of textures and taste. The fish and chips, a portion fit for two, arrived next, the golden-fried fish flaky and light, the chips crispy and satisfying. Every morsel was pure heaven. To quench our thirst, we explored their beverage selection. The Sam Adams Tap was a familiar friend, smooth and refreshing. My wife's adventurous spirit led her to the mango mojito, a tropical explosion of sweetness and mint that transported her to a beach paradise. The friendly service added the final touch to our delightful experience. From the attentive waitstaff to the welcoming atmosphere, Brick House Tavern + Tap embodied the spirit of Galveston hospitality. If you're ever strolling the Seawall and seeking a place to unwind and refuel, Brick House Tavern + Tap deserves a visit. With its delicious food, refreshing drinks, and warm service, it's the perfect recipe for a memorable Galveston evening. We highly recommend it!
