Big Boy Garden City — Restaurant in Garden City

This place has gotten progressively worse since they opened. First time we went they had no staff and had to walk out after an hour. Second time we went the food was bad. Chalked it up as a bad day and gave it a few months before returning. Today was the most recent and worst experience yet. Wait staff was nice and did their job but I have no idea where they get their cooks. Ordered 2 cheese burgers with fries and a Ruben. The Ruben was basically beef jerky. Apparently they cook the corned beef on the griddle until it’s leather. Asked for the sauce because none was on the sandwich and overheard the cook say that no sauce comes on a Ruben?!? Never had one that didn’t have some form of Russian or 1000 island dressing. On top of that the fries were below room temp. And the burgers were Luke warm, had almost no toppings, and came with cold fries. Even the cheese sticks were cold. My son couldn’t even eat his burger because he said it tasted funny. My wife said the same. This horrible meal cost me $60, I can eat at a steakhouse for $60. Never again, I’ve officially written this place off. By far the worst Big Boy I’ve ever been to which sucks because it’s close. I believe it’s poorly managed and the owner simply doesn’t care. Update: Visit #2. I Decided to drop in on my way home from my doctors appointment last Thursday around 3:30-4:00 PM to place a to go order, instead of calling this time. The manager placed my order, and brought it to me this time. The place looked clean, and the other employees were kind. This was much different than my last experience below, and the food was good. I’m upgrading from 3 stars to 4 stars, until my next visit when I can finalize my feelings about this place.

Visit #1. The food was excellent and how Big Boy should taste. It should be rated 5 stars. However, I ordered a carry out and showed up to pick up my order at 7:44, (they close at 8pm on Sunday). I called to inform them that I had arrived to pick up my order and was immediately hung up on. The door was locked, so I called again and the young man who answered the phone said “sorry we’re closed” and almost hung up the phone again before I interrupted him, “that’s nice, can I pick up my carry out order please?” I understand they want to get out of there, but dang. The manager said “i’m sorry, he didn’t know.” So have him find out first, don’t just pick up the phone and hang up after 6 seconds. Other than that I don’t have any complaints. They only have five things that you can order on the menu not really good thing either I was a waste of an hour and 20 minutes trying to get something to eat they should have been on our table within 15 to 20 minutes tops it was only four people in there now I know why..

Part 2. It would not let me reply to the order and yes you guys have a humongous menu but you only have 12 items on a menu inside when you go to set due to covet but other than 12 items I could not get a country fried steak because you guys didn't have none according to the waitress I wanted a breakfast then and she told me hold on and went and said I would have to have all ham but I could not get bacon and sausage my wife ordered grilled cheese for the kids with french fries the waitress only brought grilled cheese no fries when we told her she had to go back and have the fries made and then brought them back out my wife herself ordered a soup and they brought her the total wrong soup the waitress said that was the soup that they had I don't remember what kind of soup but she ordered chicken noodle soup and then the soup that was brought out I believe was cabbage soup I may be mistaken on what type of soup she brought but it was definitely not chicken noodle I'm very...
