Finjan Cafe — Restaurant in Garden City

I got the pistachio iced latte, the guy in the front did not greet us, and took 10 minutes for one drink ( we were the only ones there). On top of that, I asked for it to be sweet, not all milk. He handed me a latte that consisted of all milk, a really watery expresso? I have never seen light brown expresso in my life, and the pistachio sauce only around the cup (not even in the latte). I was really confused as soon as I saw the color I reacted out loud. That should not be sold for 7 dollars considering the amount of competition of coffee shops that sell amazing coffee no offense. Maybe it was the guy making the drink and it was a bad day for him.. I am not sure but I have had a lot of coffee and this was not up to par! A plus was the beautiful space and being able to get a refund. He offered to remake it but what difference would it have made? I think they should hire someone who knows how to handle customer issues because he just looked at me in confusion as if his drink could have nothing wrong with it. Sorry if this seems heated I was really upset with the quality of the drink. It was really unenjoyable. I really hope it was just that guy and not the whole business because the place is so beautiful and I imagine the owner wants his business to have...

I really liked the vibe of the cafe, and how it wasn’t overpacked like other cafes. A group of friends and I ordered a pot of the coffee, pot of tea, a milk cake, cheesecake and the bee bites.

The menu states that the coffee is medium roast, however it tasted very dark and very average, like it was just dark roast coffee with creamer and nothing else. It was alright, but I would personally never order it again. The tea was also decently fine, but there was nothing special to it. To me, it tasted more like the coffee but a lighter roast. The cheesecake was phenomenal and very tasty, but also very pricy for one slice. The milk cake was also very good. The bee bites were alright, but they were a bit too dry and didn’t have enough of the cheese filling.

Everything is fine. The drink was fine, the sweets were fine, the seats were fine.

the atmosphere was not great for studying or paperwork, but I could see it being better for say a casual hang session with buddies.

The music was fine though maybe a touch loud to put out of your head if you wanted to focus on something else.

All and all there a lot of minor QOL things I could wish for though if I had to pick one if would be for something on the menu other than drinks and sweets. Even a plain croissant or a savory bagel would have been great.
