Golden Corral Buffet & Grill — Restaurant in Garden City

We went out as a family for my daughters birthday, we asked our server if they still came to sing happy birthday he gathered his crew and came to our table with a plate they had decorated with her name and a cup cake! 🖤 My daughter asked if she could keep the plate witch was miss communicated as they thought she had asked to keep her cup cake , we were leaving and my daughter had the plate with her as mayble or maple approached my daughter saying she was not allowed to take the plate , I had explained she was told she could; maple then loudly remarked I will talk to my crew! And walked off and started screaming at her teammates through the doors between the sweets . We all could see and hear her! I walked into the back to hand her the plate and she did not want the plate but at this point my daughter was already upset and the way she handle the situation was very unprofessional!! Our server and his team mates were very sweet on trying to make her day special! And I have not one bad thing to say on their service! But for her to be a manger and make a complete scene was disrespectful I understand gathering them where they aren’t seen...

Today- Tuesday June 3, 2025 @ 7pm...First of all I dont expect a lot of greatness from this place but usually it is barely "passable". The shrimp was pathetic small popcorn-like with breading falling off and looked more like fried clams until they brought more out. Not worth going there if that's the main thing you want. When they have butterfly or regular shrimp it's usually pretty good. And apparently now they have been switching back and forth from their really good signature rolls with plain old biscuits! (which hardly anyone was eating) Wth! Really?! Personally that is one of the main reasons I like to eat there. If I want a pitiful plain old biscuit I would go to KFC! Also the ice cream machine was not even put together! What was left of the bread pudding was all a mushy mess and looked like it was all scraped up from a previous pan. From now on I will check these things out before I pay!! When I asked the server about these items she did mention they were out of some things and wont replenish until Saturday. On Saturday October 5th we had a group of 20 people and we asked if we could put tables together since we had family from out of the state here and family from out of the country and the waitress wouldn't let us. My Mom had called around 8 in the morning to make reservations but they didn't do that anymore but they said they would let the manager know. My Mom told them around what time we would start showing up When we got there they had to talk to the manager to find out what to do. They were not prepared for us at all. They put us in a section and had us sit at 5 separate tables so we couldn't really talk to everyone in the family.They ran out of carrot cake and we had to wait for them to put more out. The macaroni and cheese didn't taste as good as it used to the mashed potatoes didn't even look appetizing at all. I used to love their macaroni and cheese and their potatoes but not now.
