There is a large parking lot adjacent to the free-standing building. Look for the upside down pizza sign facing west. Inside, it is an old-school Italian restaurant and bar. When I visited in the afternoon, the bar itself was almost full of friendly locals, and the tables were empty. Impressive menu with daily specials. What impressed me most was the friendly bartender, and how much work was getting done in the small kitchen.
My companion ordered a whiskey sour, and she was offered the option of having it blended, which she chose. The bar has a wonderful device that first crushes a serving of ice loaded on top, and then blends the drink in a separate area below. As the bartender served the drink with a beautiful garnish, she remarked, "Now that's a drink for a lady!". Not everyone will appreciate little touches like that, but my companion certainly did. This went from a quick stop for a drink to a memorable experience because of that. We will be back, I encourage...
Read moreBeen coming here my whole life since I was a kid and my parents have been coming here since the early 90s. Today I ordered a pizza with pepperoni and double cheese. We always get double cheese. The pizza I received was well done cut into weird size pieces and there was parts of the pizza that didn't even have cheese. I contemplated on calling because I never have had an issue there. My wife called just to get a remake for the future. The bartender answered she is always nice and said she had to call the owner.
The owner would only do a remake for today. What's the point I already had to feed the kids it's late 9 pm and the lions are playing Monday night football. I feel they think we were lying and maybe being ghetto like other people that try to get free food. This place has honestly the best square pizza in this area. There is no way the regular older guy made this pizza. It was horrible today and I felt bad for calling.
Lost a lifelong customer...
Read moreMy husband and I visited tonight (Friday, 2/21/2025) and were served at the bar by Linda. First time for him - first time in a couple decades for me as I had moved away as an adult for a bit! :) Anyway, very cool “small town bar” feel. The range fries, which were simply quartered red potatoes that are deep fried. They are DELICIOUS. I ate them with ranch and their ranch is good! We also ordered a large pepperoni and bacon Detroit style pizza and it was really good!! The sauce is spooned on top, which is really one of the main features of a great Detroit style pizza (next to a good crust). And the sauce is wonderful, too!
Keno was fun! Haven’t done that in a while! :)
At any rate, easy 5 out of 5 stars for great food and friendly service. Definitely an “everybody knows everybody” type of feel, which I love!...
