Vinny's Cafe — Restaurant in Garden City

Very Dark inside most of the lights were out. Food was not good at all I was looking forward to checking this place out. I ordered the special $7.00 spaghetti and meatballs 1 they should say a small plate of Boxed paste and one ball. The gravy “sauce “ had no flavor I had to find the waitress to get parmigiana and pepper flakes ( a staple In any Italian restaurant) then they brought out my dessert a cannoli it was the size of my little finger when the waitress brought it to the table in a condiment dish. I said are you kidding me and I laughed. The owner was greeting all the customers with his Bluetooth in his ear and talking and he was coming over to the table. He came over he said how was everything I said not good. He said I don’t care, it’s my mom’s recipe people always complain not enough cheese this and that. He said I don’t care about reviews I said ok I will make sure I don’t give you good feedback he kept talking over me how he has been in business for 2 years he has the best food! Then he walks behind me and starts telling the girls this girl over here is complaining about the food. I don’t care. Let people do bad reviews I know what I do and I do it the best. To start off this place is very cute very homey feeling and dumb peeling and does have a nice nice local feel to it. We walked in and the 1st thing I noticed was the tables were pretty close together with kids that was not so good as kids wiggle and talk so I always fear angry customers being too close. However everyone in this establishment seemed to know each other and was pretty kind. The menu was very straightforward and the food was delivered quickly. We visited this place for the 3.99 breakfast of scrambled eggs bacon home fries and toast. If you have gluten allergies I highly suggest asking for it to be played a different as I was not able to eat my meal because the toast was on top and had crumbled on all of the other entrees. However my children and husband seemed to greatly enjoy their meal. I really enjoyed seeing the owner/cook Come out and check on the tables and make sure that everything was fine. This morning was our second try for this restaurant. Our first visit the waitress was rude and forgetful. This morning we though we would try it again. Boy were we wrong! I stood there waiting for a table for two. A waitress asked if I was waiting for a table and I replied yes. My husband went to the restroom. After standing there over 5 mins and when my husband returned he asked why I wasn't seated. I replied, I'm still waiting to be seated. I also said I think this was a bad idea and they do not want out business. So we left. Again, poor management and rude servers. This cafe needs a supervisor on site and if there was a supervisor on site they need to be fired. You never let a customer wait at the door and never allow them to leave.
