We’ve driven by this location for the past 6 years and it’s had so many name/owner change. Finally the reviews seem consistent and we decided to give it a try.
I think it does well because the hours are 1pm-1am. People like to come here to study and hang out. It’s not that big inside but it also has seating in the patio.
There’s a stage for live piano performance on Fridays and Saturdays from 9-11pm.
I got an Earl grey black milk tea called Moonlight. I usually decline boba but honey boba and grass jelly was included in the $6 drink and it was a tall 24oz cup.
Black tea will keep me up for sure and the honey boba was a mushy soft chewy texture. I didn’t adjust sweetness and it was perfect as well as ice.
My only complaint was that after I paid and walked out, I saw on the tv screen the ad for BOGO M-F from 1pm-5pm on milk and fresh tea where your second drink is $2. I would have appreciated if the staff told me. At least try to upsell! It is listed on the menu, but clearly, I overlooked that and I’m sure many others have too.
The parking lot is tiny and street parking is not close. It’s located at the corner of Lampson and Euclid. The street parking is around residential neighborhoods. Night time is a popular hang out spot for students.
Although there was nothing wrong with quality and taste of my drink, there are so many tea shops in OC that I wouldn’t come back. Especially when a parking spot is not guaranteed and the BOGO was not...
Read moreI really wanted to give a great review after seeing this on IG. I was hoping for a great experience when I saw the boba was still hot and fresh. …. HOWEVER, after waiting 15 minutes on the hot Moonlight, I watched as the drink overflowed down the sides of the cup and sprayed all over the counter while in the steamer. I called out to the employees behind the counter, who ignored me and the increasing line. When an employee finally came out, she giggled and said she’d make a new one-no remorse, just a loud conversation with someone behind the curtain that implied it was the unseen employees fault. Even though it took 15 minutes for the first drink, the second one magically appeared after 3 minutes, but never called -just placed on the counter. This drink, essentially a hot earl grey latte with honey boba, didn’t taste like milk, didn’t taste like anything except a second steeping of an old Earl grey teabag. The tea flavor was just an essence. After switching out my order, for a cold drink that was much better, I couldn’t help but wonder why this cafe has such a hard time making hot tea lattes (offered specifically as an option by the cashier). Hope I can give 5 stars next time. The overall lack of accountability or apology lost them 2 stars. Customer service...
Read moreWhen I came in there was the most wholesome little group of young athletes taking a quick post-practice tea and snack break. There was still plenty of seating and the turnaround time for my beverage was still surprisingly quick. I ordered at the kiosk just inside the door to the parking lot, which I love because I feel like it's the best way to see all of your available options and also very introvert friendly. I ordered a melcha freeze with no creme brulee oat milk substitute and no sugar and it was great. I really like being able to personalize my drink to my specific tastes and dietary restrictions. And the freeze option was perfect on a hot day like today. And even though there was a small rush right when I arrived there was still plenty of nice air-conditioned indoor seating. I did order to go today but several people I could see were working or studying so it seems like a great place to do that. They had a variety of types of seating and those nice little plexiglass partitions. So while the atmosphere remains bright and open, you still have your little bubble to hang out in while you enjoy your bubble tea. They also had loads of cute outdoor seating....
