Tried this place for the first time today and Wow! Exactly what I thought this place would be. Delicious, flavorful, salty and greasy home cooked Mexican food. Not your regular authentic taqueria type food but more like your grandma made it at her house and invited you for dinner. The fried tacos are the top winner here so get a variety and enjoy. The food kind of reminded me of a Tex Mex style where everything is smothered in sauce and they use the green chilies at are seasonal.

All in all I’m pleased because this is exactly the kind of food I was craving.

The food was flavorful but the service was bland. Not bad and not great. Just come in make your order, get your food and go on your day.

"Since 1952" and you better believe it! Small take out only establishment. No frills no thrills, just authentic Mexican food. Made from scratch every time. This is not "fast food" it's real food. You stand in line reading the giant menu while a tiny lady with #MasterChef skills effortlessly and deftly creates your meal. Not a big plate of slop covered in grease, no Sir! A meal so good you'd shame your Grandmother with the praise it receives. Better than home made, you're an honorary Mexican now; so stay loyal. Eat here at least once a week or face withdrawal. Chicken tacos are the best in L.A. the Carnitas are to die for. Try the all meat burrito or the Tamales. Seriously, leave a tip, the counter guy...

I have been here often in the past but this time I am done with them. I order the large tamale by asking "do you have the carnitas one pound tamales?"The lower mentality gent on the register writes down my order and has me pay. I figure this means yes.He posts up my order. Fast forward about 15 minutes. Everyone that was there and 5 0r 6 others that have come in are gone"What about those tamales?" say I. He goes over and looks at the lone ticket and consults with the cook. " we don't have any of the 1 lb tamales left. We have some of the small ones." AS i walk out cursing..... I had to give it one...
