I would have given this place 3 1/2 stars because of the food, however, the service left me feeling sour. The soup is great and so are the sides. It is fairly priced but the portions for the meat dishes are very expensive. If you are looking for a place to eat Korean soup, then it is fine...but here are the reasons i gave this place 2 stars. For reference, I have come to eat here 3 times. The service is not very good.I am multilingual and I have traveled to many places including Asia. The service here is not friendly to non-korean speakers and they often are not attentive. When I finished paying the woman returned to my table and wanted me to pay more tip.I ate alone and my price in total was around 11 ish dollars nearing 12.I was rubbed the wrong way for her believing that tip is mandatory, and that her service deserved more than what I had already given her.I also work a service job and I believe that it isn't a good way to behave with a customer. It hasn't been the first time I have went to a Korean establishment and have been frequently harrased to leave more tip. I believe in tipping well when it is deserved, not because of social obligation. I am still on the lookout for good Korean restaurants with friendly service and am willing to give lee soon tofu the benefit of the doubt and hope it isn't...
Read more!!!REALLY BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! I used to occasionally enjoy ordering Soon tofu from this place, but due to a very rude staff member, I don't think I'll be visiting again. I visited restaurant on December 24th around 9PM. When I placed a phone order, the person who took my order seemed to struggle with English, leading to misunderstandings. Also, I ordered naengmyeon with a request for extra bibim sauce from her, but due to her limited English proficiency, she misunderstood and placed an order for bibimbap instead. This led to confusion and additional charges in my bill. And when I tried to place an additional order a minute after finishing the first order, She was informed that the last call had ended, so she can’t take the order anymore. When she said to me sounds like she lacks the knowledge of being courteous to customers, she did not handle the situation with kindness. It appears that addressing and correcting her disrespectful attitude towards customers should...
Read moreIf you are looking for the mean ahjumma experience, go here. Must be new owners. The tip off was the new American style spoons and the smaller portion kalbi on a big bed of cabbage. So disappointed with the unwelcoming service we received. We have been going to this Lee's tofu for many years as a favorite meeting place. I drove over an hour to get there. Now, there is a lady that is so rude. She rolls her eyes if you ask for both tea and water. She said that we could only have one or the other in a rude tone. My young niece was afraid to ask for anything since they were reprimanded. I paid over $38 a person for a scary dinner. She charged me 18% service fee (5 people) and didn't mention it, so I overpaid with a second tip. The rudeness was almost comical. We tried to laugh it off and said this is the last time we will be coming...
