Milo's Hamburgers — Restaurant in Gardendale

The manager was super friendly, but that was where it ended. This was our only experience with Milo's, so I cannot compare to other restaurants. The price was okay, but not great. The burger was bland and dripping with the sweet Milo's sauce. The bun was soggy and smashed down. The fries had a layer of yellow salt caked onto one side, and it was super salty, hiding any taste of potato there might have been. I like food, almost all food, but I didn't finish my small burger and fries. The strawberry lemonade was good. My kids liked the plain cheese burgers and the $6 bun with melted cheese in the middle. They filled the cups to the brim with ice, so you don't get much of whatever drink you choose. Half of the fountain sodas were out of order. The floor in the kitchen was puddling with, what I hope was, water and scattered paper bags and napkins. She took priority over taking my order to handing another customer his food. She dropped our cups on the floor and then proceeded to fill them with ice. Then looked surprised when I asked her to give us different cups. She forgot one cup and gave us the wrong size for another. We got the wrong size of fries but didn't bother correcting them because we didn't even eat the whole small order. I saw them give the wrong food to two different tables. One of the employees was back talking to the supervisor, using nearly the same words my six year old uses to sass me, right before getting into big trouble. If the manager allows that kind of disrespect toward him, what other sanitary rules does he not bother enforcing. The floors were slippery and grimy. Very disappointed in service today. Was told app ordering would be faster so I downloaded the app and used online ordering. Got to restaurant and went inside to the online ordering pickup. The young man said ok when I said picking up online order. Several others came in after me and ordered there and then got their food before mine. 20 minutes later I see the young man get him some food for himself and leaves. Im still standing and waiting... manager walks up and starts cleaning counter and loading straws and lids and never says a word to me, neither does the other clerk sacking others orders. Manager proceeds to take others orders and they leave with their food. Im still standing at counter...finally another lady comes on shift and asks me if I had been helped. I said I've been waiting 25 minutes for my online order. Manager overhears and says we dont do order until customer is here. I almost exploded. I said I've been here 25 minutes. To which she mumbled something under her breath and I assure you it was not an apology. I wont be going to this location ever again. Lousy service. And I advise you not to ever use their "speed" ordering app! Spent $30 for dinner for two and...

Hot and tasty per usual . There were about 4 people ahead of us to receive their orders , but it moved along fairly quickly . The portion of fries was large and well seasoned (you can easily pick up more seasoning packets if you desire) . We like to dip our fries into the special milos sauce; you can receive extra when you order, you need only to request it. You need to try one of their 'original burgers' if you haven't yet. I order mine without the onion as I am not an onion fan, but those in my family who are love the ample fresh sliced pieces onboard. If you aren't into trying new things (the special sauce on the original burgers is akin to a b-b-q met steak sauce and had a baby) then you can stick to more traditional offerings on the thick burger menu or try the chicken fingers ... which are large and in charge. The sweet tea is so good it has been selling by the gallon in retail grocery stores for years and is a staple at many a Southern family or community...
